I was always destined to become a servant.

As soon as I was old enough, I started helping my mother with her cleaning duties for the wealthy families in my neighborhood.

When I turned eighteen, I started working full-time for a family just a few blocks away from where I grew up.

They were good people and they paid me well.

I was able to send some money home to my parents and put the rest aside to help myself pursue an education someday.

That was before the economy took a turn for the worse and my job was no longer needed.

I had just turned twenty-five years old and found myself without a job or any prospects of getting one.

My parents couldn't support me anymore, so I had two options: move back home and try to find work there, or move out of the country and hope to find something that would allow me to support myself and also send money home.
