Sam Thompson is a charming cowboy who enjoys the company of women but always treats them with respect, while Willow Hayes is swearing off men after discovering her boyfriend is married; however, they both end up meeting on a beach vacation and decide to have a two-week fling, but realize that the universe has other plans when Willow becomes pregnant.
“Dude, you sure you don’t want to go grab a couple of girls and have some fun in the sand?
We could take them up to our room and get a little wild,” Ryan says as he looks out at the beach.
“I’m pretty sure that’s what half the people here are thinking about doing.
If I wanted to get laid, I would have stayed in the city,” I tell him, my gaze scanning over the people in the bar.
And yeah, there are definitely some hot women here, but I’m not looking for anything serious.
I’m just looking for a good time.
I’m not taking anyone back to my room, and I’m not going back to anyone else’s room.
I just want to have a few drinks and talk to some women.”
Ryan laughs and slaps me on the back.
“Yeah, okay.
You just want someone to talk to.”
I flip him off as Finn snickers from his seat next to Ryan on the barstool.
“Why don’t you go find yourself a nice little willing woman and get your dick wet?”
Finn asks me.
“He’s right,” Ryan says.
“We aren’t leaving for two weeks.
If I were you, I’d want to go ahead and get that taken care of.”
I give him a cursory glance before I let my eyes roam over the bar again.
There are women everywhere, but none of them look like they’re exactly what I’m looking for.
And that’s fine with me.
I’m not looking for anything at all.
A woman walks by me on her way to the bathroom, and I can’t help but notice her short shorts are riding up in all the right places.
Her ass is round and full, but she’s not what I want either.
She’s too young, and she has too much confidence.
She’s used to men chasing her.
I don’t like that shit.
I like the thrill of the chase myself.
Finn jerks his head toward the woman I was checking out, and I shake my head, letting him know she’s not worth my time.
They fall silent as we all go back to watching the people in the bar.
The bartender hands me another beer, and I take a drink before I lean back on the stool.
I look out at the beach, and that’s when I see her.
She’s tiny, but she has long, fiery red hair that falls down her back and over her shoulder.
Her skin is pale, and I can’t help but wonder if it burns easily.
Her legs are long, and the shorts she’s wearing shows them off.
I can see the hint of a tattoo peeking out from the top of the waistband, and I find myself wondering if there are more.
She’s talking to two other women, and she has the most animated expression on her face.
They’re laughing about something, and I can’t help but smile at the scene they make.
But then my attention goes back to the woman with the red hair.
She’s beautiful, but there’s something else.
She looks hurt.
“Excuse me, gentlemen,” I tell Finn and Ryan before I walk away from them.
I don’t know why I’m going over there, I just know that I am.
