The town was readying for its annual dance festival.
Colorful lights brightened the streets, vibrant posters adorned the walls, and intoxicating music wafted through the air.
Priya Sharma couldn’t help but sway to the rhythm as she walked home from the library.
She’d spent the last two hours poring over books on Indian mythology, but her mind had kept wandering to Raj.
As if on cue, he stepped out of his family’s textile shop and beckoned her.
Priya’s heart raced at the sight of his tall, muscular form and charming smile.
Raj was more than just a pretty face; he was smart and kind as well.
Though they’d known each other since childhood, it wasn’t until they’d begun attending the same college that they’d realized their feelings for each other went far beyond friendship.
"Hey," he said, as she approached.
"Studying?"
Priya nodded.
"For my Business Management exam."
"I’ll help you. I’ve already taken that course."
"Thanks."
She paused in front of the shop, unsure of whether she should enter or not.
Raj had invited her into his home many times before, yet every time Priya’s heart raced with excitement and a touch of fear.
His family knew of their relationship and approved, but that didn’t mean Priya wanted them to know she was over at his place all the time.
Raj seemed to sense her dilemma and stepped aside.
