"According to our discovery, the 'Tail of the Serpent Virus' in Eastern Europe has mutated. The blood of the infected people in this area all contains a virus gene, which is an identification code belonging to the blood of Chris Redfield's team members."
I and Claire Redfield, who are also from BSAA (Bioterrorism Security Assessment Alliance), worked together in Eastern Europe to investigate the source of the virus.
Claire's brother, Chris Redfield, was a well-known member in the antiboterrorism team that fought against Umbrella (the corporation that developed the virus) in the past.
"Ada Wong! This damn bitch! She was actually acting to take the sample for herself!"
I looked at Claire's analysis data and immediately realized that Ada Wong, who had been cooperating with me before, was just faking.
The last time she stole the virus sample from me was all part of her plan.
"It looks like she has some relationship with the remnants of Umbrella in Eastern Europe. The 'Tail of the Serpent Virus' they are developing is also one of the viruses Umbrella developed."
Claire analyzed the situation and reminded me.
"Yes, if Ada Wong wants to steal this virus sample, it must be related to this virus. We must not let her succeed!"
I looked at Claire and said decisively.
Resident Evil
I led Claire through the dimly lit corridors of the abandoned research facility where Ada was last seen.
The emergency lights cast red shadows on the water-stained walls, and the air was thick with the smell of decay.
We checked each laboratory, but there was no sign of Ada.
Suddenly, Claire noticed some fresh boot prints in the dust on the floor.
They were leading to the underground parking level.
"Let's follow them!"
Claire said, her voice filled with determination.
We followed the prints down a narrow staircase to the parking level below.
The sound of an elevator descending echoed through the empty space.
I sprinted down the emergency stairwell, my footsteps echoing off the concrete walls.
Resident Evil
Meanwhile, Claire monitored the elevator's progress through the building's security system.
The elevator stopped at one of the lower levels, and I heard a car door open and close.
I reached the bottom of the stairwell and saw that the elevator had stopped at level B2.
I quickly ran to that level and found a trail of boot prints leading to a specific parking spot.
The ground was still warm from a recently moved vehicle. "It looks like Ada Wong left here in a hurry," I said to Claire over our radio comms link.
"I've got her location," Claire replied from her end.
"She's heading north. I think she's trying to reach an airport."
"Roger that," I replied, following the trail of boot prints out of the parking garage and onto the street.
The streets were deserted, but I could hear distant sirens blaring as people fled from the city.
I followed Ada's trail for several blocks until I reached a dead end alleyway.
The boot prints stopped at a large metal door with a sign that read "Authorized Personnel Only."
I examined the door closely and noticed that it had been recently opened.
I tried turning the handle, but it was locked.
Suddenly, I heard a faint noise coming from behind me.
I turned around and saw Ada Wong standing in the shadows, her eyes fixed on me. "Ada Wong," I said, my voice firm and commanding.
"What are you doing here?"
"I'm just following orders," she replied, her voice cold and detached.
"Orders from who?"
I asked, my hand resting on my holstered pistol.
"Orders from my boss," she replied, her eyes never leaving mine.
Resident Evil
"And who is your boss?"
"The one who wants this virus sample," she replied, her voice dripping with contempt.
"I'm not going to let you have it."
We stared at each other for what felt like an eternity, the tension between us building.
I could hear Claire's voice in my earpiece, urging me to be careful.
I knew that Ada was a highly skilled operative, and I couldn't let my guard down for a second.
Suddenly, Ada reached into her jacket and pulled out a smoke grenade.
She tossed it at my feet, and I shielded my eyes as the smoke billowed up around us.
I heard Ada's grappling hook fire, followed by the sound of it latching onto something above us.
I peered through the smoke, trying to see where she had gone.
That's when Claire grabbed my arm and pulled me back into the safety of the alleyway.
Bullets sprayed against the ground where I had been standing just moments before.
When the smoke cleared, Ada was gone, leaving behind only spent shell casings on the ground.
Resident Evil
"Where did she go?"
Claire asked, her voice tight with concern.
"I don't know," I replied, scanning the rooftops and surrounding buildings for any sign of Ada. "But we need to get out of here. Now."
We made our way back to our safehouse, a nondescript building on the outskirts of the city.
Once inside, Claire booted up her laptop and began to log our encounter with Ada.
As she typed away on her keyboard, a message suddenly popped up on the screen.
It was encrypted, but Claire quickly cracked the code and read off the contents: coordinates and a timestamp.
The message had been sent from an IP address we had been monitoring for weeks - an address linked to Umbrella's remnants in Eastern Europe.
"What does it say?"
I asked, looking over her shoulder at the laptop screen.
"It looks like they're planning some kind of operation," she replied, her brow furrowed in concentration as she analyzed the message further.
"But what kind?"
I asked, my mind racing with possibilities.
"It's not clear," she said, her voice filled with frustration.
"But it looks like they're using some kind of satellite imagery. Maybe we can track them down if we can get access to those satellites."
Resident Evil
"Let me try," I said, reaching for my own laptop that sat open on a nearby table. I quickly logged in and began to search for any information about satellite imagery linked to Umbrella's remnants in Eastern Europe.
"Wait," Claire said, her eyes widening as she pointed to a line of code.
"This isn't just about tracking; they're planning to launch something."
"A missile?" I asked, feeling a chill run down my spine.
"It looks like it," she replied, her voice tight with concern.
"But where are they launching it from?"
I leaned over her shoulder as she pulled up a satellite feed on the laptop screen.
The feed showed a small red dot moving slowly across Eastern Europe.
"That's a mobile launch platform," I said, recognizing the type of vehicle from my years in the military.
"But where is it headed?"
Claire asked, her voice filled with tension.
I quickly cross-referenced the coordinates from the message with our own satellite imagery, and a few moments later we had our answer.
"It's heading for an old Soviet missile silo," I said, my voice firm and determined.
"Let's track it."
Resident Evil
We watched as the vehicle continued to move across the satellite imagery, its trajectory unwavering.
Suddenly, Claire gasped as she noticed something else on the screen - a large heat signature emanating from beneath the vehicle.
"It's not just a missile," she said, her voice filled with surprise.
"It's an ICBM."
I clenched my fists as I realized what was happening.
They were planning to launch an intercontinental ballistic missile. "We need to act fast," I said, grabbing my tactical gear from the nearby shelf.
"We can't let them launch that missile."
Claire nodded in agreement as we quickly made our way to the nearest safehouse.
From there, we could coordinate with BSAA command and get a team together to stop Umbrella's remnants before it was too late.
But as we drove through the deserted streets, I couldn't shake the feeling that we were in over our heads.
Umbrella had been a powerful corporation, and their remnants still had significant resources at their disposal.
Stopping them wouldn't be easy, but we had to try.
We arrived at the safehouse just as the sun was setting over Eastern Europe.
It was an old abandoned warehouse on the outskirts of town, surrounded by tall chain-link fencing topped with barbed wire.
The building itself was dimly lit, with boarded-up windows and a corrugated metal roof. We parked our car in front of the warehouse and stepped out into the cool evening air.
The only sound was the distant hum of traffic on the highway and the occasional barking of stray dogs in the distance.
I looked at Claire and nodded; it was time to get to work.
We entered through a side door that creaked open under my hand, revealing a dimly lit room filled with rows of computer terminals and communication equipment.
"Do you think we have enough time to stop them?" Claire asked, her voice barely above a whisper as she powered up the equipment.
"We have to make time," I replied, determination lacing my words. "If we don't, the consequences could be catastrophic."
Resident Evil
Claire glanced at me, her eyes filled with both fear and resolve. "Then let's make sure we stop that launch, no matter what it takes."
I leaned over her shoulder as she began to type furiously on the safehouse's main terminal, establishing a secure connection to BSAA headquarters.
The ancient Soviet-era computer fans whirred loudly in the dimly lit room, casting flickering shadows on the walls.
A crackling voice came through the speakers, Colonel Burton's familiar voice echoing through the room.
"Situation report, Lyon," he barked, his voice firm and commanding.
I quickly relayed the coordinates of the mobile ICBM and its trajectory, while Claire uploaded our satellite imagery to headquarters for further analysis.
The colonel's voice crackled back through the speakers, his words filled with a mixture of concern and determination.
"It's worse than we thought," he said, his voice tight with tension.
"The launch platform matches designs stolen from a BSAA weapons facility last month. We're talking about a top-tier nuclear weapon here."
My heart sank as I realized the full extent of Umbrella's plans.
We had to act fast if we were going to stop this missile from being launched.
Resident Evil
"We're sending two helicopter gunships your way," the colonel continued.
"They'll be there within 90 minutes."
I glanced at my watch; we didn't have that long. "Can you delay the launch by any means necessary until support arrives?" the colonel asked, his voice filled with urgency.
"Yes, sir," I replied, my voice firm and determined.
"We'll do whatever it takes," Claire added, her fingers flying over the keyboard as she tried to access the launch system remotely.
Resident Evil
"Good," Colonel Burton replied, his voice a steady anchor amidst the chaos. "Remember, failure is not an option."
I nodded, even though he couldn't see me, and turned to Claire. "Let's get to work."
