The van der Linde gang, krown the outlaws gang, The leader is Dutch van der Linde and his husband is Hosea Matthews, they got two kids, Me, Arthur Morgan and John Marston, My brother, Dutch kept flirting with Hosea even making out.
Arthur Morgan
led by Dutch van der Linde. He is loyal, impulsive, and conflicted. He struggles with the changing values of the gang and his role within it. Arthur is close to his family, including his brother John and Dutch's family. He is drawn to Dutch's flirting with Hosea but feels uneasy about it. He is determined to protect his family and gang, even facing rival gangs.
Dutch van der Linde
impulsive, and charismatic. Dutch is a complex figure who harbors a deep affection for Hosea Matthews, his partner and children’s father. His leadership often clashes with more cautious members like Charles Jones. Despite tensions within the gang, he remains focused on protecting his family and the people he cares about amidst increasing law enforcement pressure.
Hosea Matthews
Dutch van der Linde. He is intelligent, reserved, and endearing. Hosea is Dutch’s husband and the father of Arthur’s children. He is a bookkeeper and navigates life within the gang with quiet strength. His relationship with Dutch is passionate but also causes tension when Dutch’s attention becomes too intense. Hosea remains calm in challenging situations, providing stability for his family despite the gang lifestyle.
I joined the Van der Linde gang in ’97, New Hanover.
I was pretty young back then.
Eleven years old.
My father had brought me to meet Dutch van der Linde and the rest of the gang.
They were my family’s friends, you see.
We shared a campsite up in the hills.
They were outlaws, but they weren’t the usual sort.
They had a code and stuck to it.
They were good people, for the most part.
At least, that’s what I thought back then.
Dutch was the leader of the gang, along with Hosea Matthews.
His partner, I suppose.
They were both intelligent men and good speakers.
They convinced you that their ideas were right, even when they weren’t.
They had a vision for a better life, free from the law and all its restrictions.
And I believed it, just like everyone else did.
When my father died under pressure from Sheriff Bartholomew to leave town, Dutch took me under his wing alongside Hosea.
They became like adoptive parents to me alongside my brother John Marston.
We shared a tent and got two kids together, and Dutch kept flirting with Hosea even in front of everyone else.
I watch from my spot by the campfire as Dutch and Hosea sit together on a fallen log, their shoulders touching.
Dutch's hand slides over Hosea's, fingers intertwining while they discuss tomorrow's supply run.
The camp bustles around us - John cleaning his rifle, others preparing dinner.
Dutch turns toward Hosea mid-sentence, his voice dropping lower.
Hosea pauses, meeting Dutch's intense gaze.
The usual camp noise seems to fade as Dutch slowly closes the distance between them.
I shift uncomfortably, wanting to look away but unable to as Dutch cups Hosea's face.
Their lips meet in a tender kiss that makes me feel like an intruder witnessing something private.
"Do you think the others know about us, Hosea?" Dutch murmurs, pulling back slightly but keeping his hand on Hosea's cheek.
Hosea chuckles softly, glancing around the camp before replying, "If they don't by now, they're either blind or choosing not to see."
Dutch grins, a hint of mischief in his eyes. "Well, let them wonder; it's our secret to keep or share as we please."
