However,he becomes an ally when they combine forces to uncover the sabotage plot against Britain. His connection to the higherups influences the direction of the investigation and provides insight into the internal politics within MI6.
Evelyn Stone
a former 007 who was dismissed after being suspected of treason. She is resourceful, independent, and cautious. Stone returns to service when Hunt is reinstated, and she helps him unravel the sabotage plot. Her past dismissal left her wary of authority, but she works to clear her name. She uses her knowledge of the organization to infiltrate secure locations and access crucial information about the conspiracy.
I was told I was the only one.
The first and the last, the only 007 to ever exist.
I believed it.
Why wouldn’t I?
It made sense, and I had no reason to doubt it.
But now, I wasn’t so sure.
I stared at the man in front of me, my mind reeling with questions.
"Who are you?"
I asked.
The man smiled, a small smile that barely showed his amusement.
"You don’t know? I thought for sure you would be aware. My name is Alex, and I am also 007."
My eyes widened as I processed his words.
There was another 007?
No one had ever told me that.
I thought I was the only one, just like M had said.
Just like I had believed.
"Impossible," I said.
The tension in the room thickened as I slowly moved my hand toward my holster.
My eyes never left his face, and he watched me with a smirk.
He knew what I was doing, but he didn’t react.
He remained leaning against the desk, his arms crossed over his chest.
The fluorescent lights above us cast harsh shadows across his features, making it difficult to read his expression.
But I knew what I saw.
Amusement.
He was enjoying this.
My fingers brushed against the cold metal of my Walther PPK, and I felt a surge of adrenaline course through me.
I had always felt safe with my gun by my side, but now, I wasn’t so sure.
If he was telling the truth about being 007, then he was just as trained as I was.
Alex’s eyes flicked to my hand, then back to my face.
"Easy there, I’m not here to fight," he said calmly, his voice steady and unthreatening.
"Then why are you here?" I demanded, my grip tightening on the gun.
"To tell you that everything you’ve been told is a lie," he replied, his eyes locking onto mine with an intensity that made my heart skip a beat.
My finger tightens on the trigger as high heels click against the concrete floor.
Through my peripheral vision, I catch movement in the darkened corner of the office, where filing cabinets cast long shadows.
A woman’s voice cuts through the air, familiar yet distant.
"Easy, James," she says softly, her words carrying a hint of caution.
My gaze remains fixed on the man in front of me, but my mind whirls with recognition.
That voice—I’ve heard it before, though it feels like a lifetime ago.
It stirs memories of a mission in Prague, five years past.
Slowly, she emerges from the shadows, her hands raised to show she’s unarmed.
As she steps into the dim light, my breath catches in my throat.
It’s Evelyn Stone—the agent who went missing after being branded a traitor.
Her presence here, alongside this mysterious man who claims to be 007, confirms my worst fears about MI6’s deception.
She inches closer, her eyes darting between us with a mixture of concern and determination.
In her hand is a manila folder, tucked under her arm—a symbol of secrets and revelations waiting to be uncovered. I shift my aim slightly, torn between the two of them.
Who poses the greater threat?
The man who claims to be another 007 or the woman who was once considered a traitor?
The air is heavy with tension as I weigh my options.
