I, along with my friends, developed an app called "Good Morning."
The idea was simple.
When users woke up in the morning and opened the app, it would greet them with a pleasant voice, play their favorite music, and even brief them on the latest news and weather forecast.
It also came with a built-in alarm system.
We had high hopes that once we launched this app, it would become a hit, and we would earn a lot of money.
Eventually, it did become popular.
However, it wasn't us who earned the money but another company called "Sunrise."
They had plagiarized our idea and developed an almost identical app called "Wake Up."
When we discovered that our idea had been copied, we immediately took them to court.
We were confident that we would win the case since all the coding and development was original and done by us.
However, to our dismay, we lost the case.
The judge ruled in favor of Sunrise.
This setback had a huge impact on our company, both financially and morally.
The court case lasted for a year, and during this time, our company was stagnant.
We couldn't develop any new apps as we were too busy dealing with the court case.
When the news of my loss in the court case reached the media, I became a laughing stock.

After losing the court case, I sat in my office, staring at the bankruptcy notices that were piled on my desk.
It was late in the evening, and everyone had gone home.
The only sound in the room was of the clock ticking on the wall.
I was so engrossed in my thoughts that I didn't notice someone entering my office.
It wasn't until I heard a knock on the door that I realized someone was there.
"Come in," I said without looking up from the papers on my desk.
The door opened, and a man walked in.
He was tall and slender, with a well-groomed beard and perfectly styled hair.
He wore a tailored suit that looked expensive.
He walked confidently towards me and sat down in the chair across from my desk.

I looked up at him and wondered who he was and why he was here.
I didn't recognize him, but there was something about him that seemed familiar. "Good evening," he said with a smile.
"Good evening," I replied, still wondering who he was.
"I am Chen Wei," he introduced himself.
"I am sorry, but I don't remember meeting you before," I said, trying to recall if we had ever met before.
"You don't have to remember me. We have never met before," he said, still smiling.
"Okay," I said, confused about why he was here.
"I hope you don't mind me coming here like this," he said, gesturing towards the chair he was sitting in.
"Not at all," I replied, still confused about his presence here.
He sat there for a moment without saying anything, just staring at me with an unreadable expression on his face.
I started to feel uncomfortable under his gaze and shifted in my seat.
He seemed to sense my discomfort and cleared his throat before speaking again. "I saw your app on my phone this morning," he said, nodding towards the computer screen where the interface of "Good Morning" was still open.
"It's a great app. I liked it."
"Thank you," I replied, not sure what else to say to him.
"I also saw the news about you losing the court case against Sunrise," he continued, looking at me with concern in his eyes.
"I'm sorry to hear that."
"Thank you for your sympathy," I said, feeling embarrassed about losing the case.
"It's not your fault. It's just bad luck," he said, trying to console me.
"I guess so," I replied with a sigh.
"But what if I told you there's a way to turn this around?" Chen said, leaning forward with a glint of determination in his eyes.
Nominal Wife
"What do you mean?" I asked, my curiosity piqued despite my skepticism.
"I have connections in the tech industry, and I believe we can prove that Sunrise used insider information to develop 'Wake Up,'" he replied, his voice steady and confident.
I study Chen Wei's business card in my dimly lit office.
CEO of Wei Technologies.
His presence commands attention, and I can't help but feel a mix of curiosity and skepticism.
He pulls out a sleek tablet from his bag and slides it across the desk towards me.
The screen flickers to life, displaying a market analysis that makes my heart skip a beat.
It's the code structure of Sunrise's app, and it eerily mirrors our own.
"How did you get this?"
I ask, my voice barely above a whisper.
Chen leans forward, his eyes locked on mine.
"My tech team has been digging deep. We found traces of your original programming framework in their system."
Nominal Wife
My mind races as I process the implications.
"Why are you helping us?"
I ask, searching for any ulterior motives.
Chen leans back in his chair, a hint of a smile playing on his lips.
"I've been watching your company for months. I admire your innovation and determination. And I believe we can help each other."
Nominal Wife
He slides a contract across my desk, the weight of it sinking into the wood.
"It's a partnership proposal. My legal team will work with you to gather evidence and take down Sunrise. In return, we'll have access to your development records."
I scan the contract, my eyes lingering on the fine print.
It outlines the terms of their involvement, including the allocation of their legal resources to our case.
Their attorney will work closely with us to build a solid case against Sunrise.
The contract also mentions a detailed technical analysis that will be conducted to prove the theft of our code.
As I reach the signature line, Chen leans forward again, his voice taking on a casual tone.
"Oh, and one more thing. This partnership requires full access to your servers and development history."
Something in his tone makes me pause, but when I glance at the mounting bills on my desk, I push aside my doubts.
With slightly trembling fingers, I pick up the pen and sign my name across the dotted line.
Chen immediately pulls out his phone and photographs the contract before tucking it back into his bag.
"Welcome aboard," Chen says, extending his hand with a firm grip.
Nominal Wife
"Let's hope this works," I reply, trying to mask the uncertainty in my voice.
"It will," he assures me, standing up to leave, "and soon, Sunrise will regret underestimating you."
