The world was a blur of neon lights and dark alleys.

At least, that’s how it felt after being spun around so much.

I stumbled in a direction I hoped was away from the main street and nearly fell over when my bovver boots hit a patch of ice.

Luckily, I managed to catch myself before my face made contact with the pavement.

Not that it really mattered.

I was already down, literally and figuratively.

Getting kicked out of my apartment was the final blow to my terrible day.

First, I had lost my job, and then my computer had been infected by a virus.

Now, I had no place to live.

I was starting to think that the old wives’ tale about it raining bad luck was true.

Marcus Flynn was right; I should have gotten my tattoos removed when I had the chance.

They were probably why the landlord had just evicted me.
