"Lee Felix, Lee Felix…"
"Lee Felix, Lee Felix…"
I can hear my name being called repeatedly, but my eyes remain closed.
It’s a voice I’m familiar with, and yet I don’t want to open my eyes.
The voice is calling me again and again, and I feel a hand touching my shoulder.
It’s very tender, just like that of Hanjin’s.
If I didn’t know better, I would’ve thought it was him, but I know it isn’t.
I know it isn’t Hanjin calling me.
"Lee Felix, wake up!"
The voice is louder now, more urgent.
I feel a pinch on my arm and my eyes fly open.
I see a face right in front of me and a pair of lips moving, talking to me.
"Lee Felix…"
The lips continue to move, but I’m not hearing the words anymore.
All I can see are the lips and the face in front of me.
It’s so familiar that it makes me want to cry.
I don’t want to see this face because it reminds me of him.
I want to close my eyes and turn away, but the hand on my shoulder holds me firmly in place.
The voice continues to talk to me and the hand remains on my shoulder, holding me steady.
I stare at the person in front of me, watching him laugh and smile.
His eyes are focused on someone else, not on me.
The music is loud and I can hear it pounding through the speakers, but I’m not listening to it anymore.
My eyes are still on the person in front of me, and I feel his hand on my shoulder.
I can still feel the pinch on my arm where he pinched me earlier.
I feel heavy, as if I’ve been rooted to the spot for a long time.
I try to move, but my feet feel like they’re stuck to the floor.
I look down at my feet and try to move them, but they won’t budge.
I look back up at the person in front of me and see him talking to someone else now.
He’s smiling at the other boy and they’re both laughing together. I want to get up and walk away, but my feet won’t move.
I try to force myself to walk, but it’s like my body is made of lead and I can’t lift my legs.
I feel frustrated and angry that I can’t move, and I try harder to get up and walk away from the person in front of me.
Finally, I’m able to lift one leg and then the other, and I start walking forward.
Each step feels like a struggle, but I keep going until I’m standing right next to him.
He’s still talking to the other boy and hasn’t noticed that I’m standing there next to him.
The other boy sees me first, but he doesn’t say anything.
He just keeps looking at me with his dark eyes. The music is still playing loudly around us, but I barely hear it anymore.
My eyes are fixed on the person in front of me as he continues talking to the other boy.
The other boy keeps looking at me with his dark eyes, but he doesn’t say anything.
I reach out my hand and touch the arm of the person in front of me.
My hand is shaking as it touches his arm, but he doesn’t notice it yet.
The other boy sees my hand on his arm, but he still doesn’t say anything.
He just keeps looking at me with his dark eyes as if he knows what’s going on between us.
Suddenly, the person in front of me turns around and sees me standing there next to him with my hand on his arm. His smile falters when he sees me standing there next to him with my hand on his arm.
"Felix, what are you doing here?" he asks, his voice tinged with surprise and something else I can't quite place.
"I needed to see you, Hanjin," I reply, my voice barely audible over the music, "I can't keep pretending everything's fine."
Hanjin's eyes soften, and he glances at the other boy before turning back to me. "We should talk," he says quietly, "there's something you need to know."
I lead him away from the crowd, my fingers still trembling as they release his arm.
We find a dimly lit hallway away from the pulsating beat of the party.
The bass thuds dully through the walls, but it's muffled enough that we can hear each other speak.
I open my mouth to say something, but he cuts me off before I can get the words out.
"I never meant to hurt you, Felix," he says, his voice filled with regret, "I didn't mean for things to go this far."
I listen to his words, but they all seem to blur together in my head.
Memories of us flood back - the gentle touches, the stolen glances, the promises whispered in the dead of night.
My chest tightens as I remember how much I had given myself to him, only for him to leave without a word.
I press my palm against the cool wall next to me, trying to steady myself as I prepare to ask him why.
I watch as Minho materializes between us, his shoulders tense and jaw clenched.
The hallway suddenly feels smaller, more confining.
Hanjin takes a step back, hands raised defensively, but Minho advances.
"You don't get to explain anything," he growls, jabbing a finger at Hanjin's chest.
My stomach churns as I notice how similar they look side by side - the same height, similar builds.
Hanjin's eyes dart to me, pleading, but Minho blocks his view.
"Five," Minho starts counting, his voice low and dangerous.
I press my back against the wall, watching as his shoulders tense further with each number.
"Four."
Hanjin's eyes widen, and he takes another step back.
"Three."
Minho advances, his hand balled into a fist.
"Two."
Hanjin breaks, his voice cracking as he blurts out, "I left because I couldn't handle how much you loved me!"
The words hit me like a physical blow.
Minho's hand shoots out, gripping Hanjin's collar and pulling him forward.
"You don't deserve her love," he snarls, his face inches from Hanjin's.
I reach out, grabbing Minho's arm.
He tenses beneath my fingers, muscles straining against my grip.
"Don't," I whisper, my voice cracking.
Hanjin uses the momentary distraction to slip away, his footsteps echoing down the hall.
Minho turns to me, his expression softening.
My hand trembles as I release his arm, the fabric of his sleeve slipping through my fingers.
The dim hallway light catches his features, illuminating the sharp planes of his face.
He steps closer, his earlier anger completely gone.
His hand reaches out, thumb brushing away tears I hadn't realized were falling.
The gesture is achingly familiar yet different - where Hanjin's touch was hesitant, Minho's is steady and sure.
My heart pounds in my chest as he leans in, his breath warm against my cheek.
I stare at his face, inches from mine, his thumb still resting on my cheek.
The hallway feels impossibly narrow, trapping his warmth against me.
My breath catches as his other hand finds my waist, steadying me against the wall.
The distant party music pulses through the floorboards, a steady beat that echoes the pounding of my heart.
When his eyes drop to my lips, I grip his shirt tighter, remembering how Hanjin used to hesitate like this.
But Minho doesn't hesitate.
He closes the gap between us slowly, deliberately, giving me time to pull away.
I don't.
"Do you want this?" he murmurs, his voice barely above a whisper.
I nod, my voice lost somewhere between my racing heart and the warmth of his touch.
"Then let me show you what real love feels like," he promises, his lips brushing against mine.
I lean into the kiss, my fingers still gripping his shirt.
His lips are soft but insistent against mine, different from Hanjin's hesitant touches.
The bass from downstairs vibrates through the wall behind me, matching the erratic beat of my pulse.
Minho's hand slides from my waist to the small of my back, pulling me closer.
His other hand cradles my face, thumb stroking my cheek.
The dim light of the hallway fades into the background as I lose myself in the sensation.
I pull back, my lips tingling from the intensity of the kiss.
The bass from the party still vibrates through the walls, making it hard to think clearly.
His hands remain on my waist as I glance down the dim hallway, my eyes adjusting to the shadows.
A door stands closed at the far end, partially hidden by a curtain.
Taking his hand, I lead him toward it, our footsteps muffled by the thick carpet.
My fingers tremble slightly as I reach for the doorknob.
The metal feels cool against my palm.
Before turning it, I look back at Minho, who watches me with patient intensity.
"Are you sure about this?" he asks softly, his eyes searching mine for any sign of doubt.
I nod again, feeling a strange mix of excitement and fear bubbling inside me.
"Then let's step into the unknown together," he says, squeezing my hand reassuringly.
I turn the doorknob and push the door open, still holding his warm hand.
The hinges creak loudly, making me flinch.
As my eyes adjust to the darkness beyond, I make out a tall silhouette standing motionless against the far wall.
The figure's shoulders are broad, their stance rigid and threatening.
My grip on Minho's hand tightens as cold fear replaces the lingering warmth of our kiss.
The party music seems to fade away, leaving only the sound of my shallow breathing.
