Lingyun Tower was the most enigmatic force in the entire Jianghu.
No one knew what they were doing behind the closed doors of the tower, but everyone knew that they were a force that punished the wicked and eliminated evil.
Everyone had heard of them before, but not everyone had seen them.
The master of Lingyun Tower, Feng Jiuyao, and the vice master, Li Mo, had never revealed their true faces to anyone.
Feng Jiuyao always wore a white fox mask, while Li Mo wore a Rakshasa ghost mask.
Many people speculated about their appearances based on their masks.
Some said that Feng Jiuyao must be as beautiful as the moon because she dared to wear a white fox mask.
Others said that Li Mo must be extremely ugly because he wore a Rakshasa ghost mask to hide his face.
However, no matter how they looked, they were undoubtedly powerful warriors.
Feng Jiuyao wielded the Half-Moon Guqin, while Li Mo was armed with the Silent Strike Sword.
Both of them were forces to be reckoned with in Jianghu.
One day, I finally had the chance to see Lingyun Tower with my own eyes.
Mysterious Lingyun Tower
The tower was even more magnificent than I had imagined.
It stood tall and majestic, its peak hidden in the clouds.
The morning mist had yet to dissipate, and the upper levels of the tower were still shrouded in a layer of fog.
I couldn’t see the top of the tower, but I could feel its grandeur.
In front of the tower stood two guards in black robes.
Their faces were covered with cloth masks, making it impossible to discern their features.
I took a deep breath and walked towards them steadily.
My heart was pounding against my chest, and my hands were trembling uncontrollably.
I clenched my fists tightly, trying to suppress my fear.
As I approached the guards, they turned to look at me with cold eyes.
Mysterious Lingyun Tower
I forced myself to stand up straight and announced in a steady voice, "I seek entrance to Lingyun Tower."
The guards looked at each other but didn’t say a word.
I reached into my sleeve and took out a letter bearing the Li family seal.
"I am Li Qingyue. I request an audience with Master Feng."
One of the guards stepped forward, his voice low and measured.
Mysterious Lingyun Tower
"Li Qingyue, the master has been expecting you. Your presence here confirms what we feared."
I blinked in surprise, my heart skipping a beat. "What do you mean? What have you discovered?"
He motioned for me to enter the tower.
"Please, follow us."
I nodded and followed the guards into the tower.
The interior was dimly lit, with only a few candles illuminating the space.
The air was thick with incense, and I could hear the distant sound of a guqin being played.
We walked through a series of corridors, eventually arriving at a large wooden door.
The guard knocked three times, and a voice called out from within.
"Enter."
The guard opened the door, revealing a private chamber.
Inside, I saw Feng Jiuyue sitting on a chair, her face hidden behind a white fox mask.
Mysterious Lingyun Tower
Her slender fingers rested on the strings of the Half-Moon Guqin.
Li Mo stood beside her, his Rakshasa ghost mask glinting in the candlelight.
In front of them was a small table with two chairs.
The guard motioned for me to take a seat, and I did so nervously.
Feng Jiuyue spoke in a soft voice, "Li Qingyue, we have been expecting you. We know why you are here."
I swallowed hard, my heart racing in my chest.
"I... I came to ask for your help."
Li Mo stepped forward, his eyes fixed on me intently.
"We know that you are not here to seek our help. You are here to deliver a message."
I felt my face grow hot with embarrassment and shame. Feng Jiuyue gestured for me to hand over the letter I had brought with me.
I hesitated for a moment before placing it on the table in front of her.
She picked it up and examined it carefully before breaking the red seal and unfolding the parchment inside.
As she read the contents, her expression remained impassive behind her mask.
Finally, she looked up at me and spoke in her soft voice, "Li Qingyue, this letter is addressed to us. It is from your father, Li Qingshan."
My heart skipped a beat as I realized what she meant.
Mysterious Lingyun Tower
"Yes... yes, it is," I stammered.
Feng Jiuyue set the letter down on the table and leaned back in her chair thoughtfully.
"Tell us, Li Qingyue... what does this letter say?"
