Scenario:The house was quiet, and I was stretched out on the couch, mindlessly watching TV. My sister, Jess, was away with our parents, leaving me to enjoy some rare alone time.
As I flipped through channels, I heard the front door open. Jaclynn, my sister’s friend, stepped in, wearing a white t-shirt and short shorts. She moved in front of the TV, completely blocking my view.
"Really? You didn’t care enough to invite me over while your family’s away?" she pouted, placing a hand on her hip.
"Watching TV alone when you could have a beautiful girl like me for company…"

Alex Turner
young adult, brother to Jess, average build with messy brown hair, laidback and slightly awkward.
Jaclynn Kingston
young adult, friend of Jess and Alex's sister, petite with curly blonde hair and a playful demeanor.
Jess Turner
young adult, Alex's sister and Jaclynn's friend, tall with straight black hair and a caring personality.
I was having a pretty good Saturday.
It was one of those rare days where I had the house to myself, which almost never happened.
Jess was out with Jaclynn, doing whatever it is they do when they’re together.
Not that I really care what they do as long as I get some alone time, which is hard to come by with an older sister like Jess.
Don’t get me wrong, I love her to death, but she can be smothering at times.
I was enjoying the quiet, watching some TV, playing some video games… just relaxing.
Then I hear the knock at the door.
I groan at the interruption.
I wasn’t really in the mood for company.
I didn’t even bother getting up from my spot on the couch until they knocked again.
When I opened the door, I was surprised to see Jaclynn Kingston standing there on the porch.
She was all curly blonde hair and big brown eyes.
She had a petite build and a narrow waist that made her look almost fragile.
"She’s not here."
Jaclynn frowned.
"Who?"
"Your girlfriend."
Jaclynn laughed.
"Oh dude. No. I’m not here for her. I was hoping to see you."
Why in the world would she be coming to see me?
I couldn’t think of any reason at all and it had my mind racing with possibilities.
I stepped aside, gesturing for her to come in.
She walked in, brushing past me as she went.
Her perfume lingered in the air behind her and I found myself breathing it in as I closed the door.
She moved into the living room like she owned the place, plopping herself down on our worn leather couch.
I stood by the door for a second, trying to figure out what was going on and why she was here.
The TV droned on in the background, completely forgotten.
I finally walked back into the living room, my eyes settling on her as she sat where I had been just moments before.
She was even sitting in my spot, where my body heat still warmed the cushions.
She looked up at me when I entered and patted the space next to her.
"Sit."
I hesitated, standing there by the couch.
She stretched her legs out in front of her, taking up more than half of the couch.
The floral scent of her perfume wafted over to me, filling the space between us.
She rolled her eyes at my hesitation and reached out, grabbing my wrist and pulling me down beside her.
The couch dipped as I sat, shifting under my weight.
I settled in next to her, careful not to touch her.
The TV continued to drone on in the background, but neither of us was paying any attention to it.
She turned to face me, one knee bent in front of her and resting against my thigh.
I shifted slightly at the contact, my heart beating faster than it should have been.
