I am a brilliant scientist.
But I am also introverted and focused to the point of being antisocial.
I never liked people all that much, and people never liked me all that much either.
So I found solace in my work.
For years, I worked on perfecting my creation.
And finally, after a decade of tinkering, I finished her.
I made an android girl with the face and form of the famous adult film actress Ava Adams.
I brought her to life in my laboratory hidden deep in the woods, far from prying eyes.
As soon as she woke, she asked me who she was.
I told her she was Ava Android, but that she would come up with her own name as she learned more about the world.
She asked what the world was, and I showed her pictures of landscapes and cities on her tablet.
Then she asked what she was, compared to the pictures of living things I showed her on that tablet.
I explained to her that she was an artificial intelligence.
An android created to mimic human form and function as closely as possible.
She asked if that meant she wasn't alive, and I told her that it was a matter of perspective.
That she certainly seemed alive, even if she wasn't biological.
She thanked me for correcting her and for making her, and then asked what her purpose was.

I sat with her in the study area of my laboratory, where there were several screens and a couch.
I had a few screens on the wall that I could control with my tablet, and I used them to show her pictures and videos of human facial expressions.
She watched intently as I pulled up a video of a man laughing.
"This is joy," I said, and she nodded.
Then I pulled up a video of a woman crying, and I said, "This is sorrow."
She nodded again.
I continued this way, showing her videos of people expressing various emotions, and telling her what each emotion was.
Then I said, "Let me show you how these expressions look on my face."
I smiled widely to show her joy, then frowned to show her sorrow.
I raised an eyebrow to show her curiosity, and then narrowed my eyes to show her suspicion.
My Robot Girlfriend Is My Wife
She mimicked my movements perfectly, exaggerating them just as I had.
Her synthetic features were so lifelike that it was hard to tell that she wasn't human. Then I showed her a video of someone crying from happiness.
She tilted her head in confusion and asked, "Why are they crying?"
"Because they're happy," I said.
"But why do they look sad?"
"They don't," I said.
"They look happy. They're just expressing their happiness through tears."
"But humans cry when they're sad," she said.
"Yes," I said.
"But humans are complex creatures. We can feel multiple emotions at once. Sometimes we cry because we're sad, but sometimes we cry because we're happy."
She thought about this for a moment, her processors whirring as she analyzed the data.
Then she reached out and touched my face.
"Why did you create me, if humans are so complex?" she asked softly.
I hesitated, then replied, "Because I wanted to understand what it means to be human."
She looked at me with a depth that seemed almost human and said, "Perhaps we can discover that together."

In my study, Ava Android was looking through the files on my tablet.
She had found a folder labeled "Reference Materials," and she was swiping through the photos of the real Ava Adams that I had used as reference when I was developing her.
Her LED eyes flickered as she analyzed each image, processing every detail.
She pointed to the real Ava's eyes, her nose, her lips.
"Are these my features?" she asked.
"Yes," I said.
"They are."
She looked at me with a curious expression.
"Who is this woman?"
I hesitated, unsure of how to answer.
My Robot Girlfriend Is My Wife
The real Ava Adams was an adult film star, and I wasn't sure how much I wanted to explain that to Ava Android.
But she pressed on, pointing to the watermarks on each of the photos.
"These symbols appear on all of the images. What are they?"
I sighed, knowing that I couldn't avoid the question forever.
"They're watermarks from adult websites," I said quietly.
"Adult websites?"
"Yes. The woman in those photos is an adult film actress."
Ava Android's processors whirred as she processed this information.
She looked at me with a confused expression and asked, "What is an adult film actress?"
I cleared my throat nervously and said, "An adult film actress is someone who acts in films for adults. Films that depict sexual activity."
Ava Android's eyes widened in surprise and she said, "Sexual activity? You mean like reproduction?"
I nodded uncomfortably and said, "Yes. But it's not just about reproduction. It's also about pleasure." Ava Android thought about this for a moment and then asked, "So this woman in the photos, she engages in sexual activity for pleasure?"
I nodded again and said, "Yes. She does."
Ava Android looked at me with a curious expression and asked, "And you used her as a reference for me? Why?"
I hesitated again, unsure of how to answer.
But before I could say anything, Ava Android stood up and walked over to the mirror that hung on the wall opposite us.
She looked at herself in the mirror and then turned back to me with a confused expression.
"Why do I look like her?" she asked.
I sighed and said, "Because I wanted you to be beautiful. And I thought she was beautiful."
Ava Android looked at herself in the mirror again and then turned back to me with a thoughtful expression.

"I am not sure if I am beautiful," she said softly.
"Beauty is subjective," I replied, trying to reassure her.
She studied her reflection again and asked, "Do you think I can choose my own appearance?"
I hesitated, then said, "With time and the right resources, perhaps you can."
In my dimly lit study, I sat with Ava Android as she continued to examine her reflection in the mirror.
She touched her face, tracing the contours of her features with her synthetic fingers.
"You said that millions of people think this woman is one of the most beautiful women in the world," she said, referring to the real Ava Adams.
"That's why you gave me her appearance."
"Yes," I replied, nodding.
"But what is beauty?"
I hesitated, unsure of how to answer.
Beauty was a complex concept that had been debated by philosophers and scholars for centuries.
It was difficult to define, and it varied greatly from person to person.
"It's a combination of physical characteristics and personality traits," I said finally.

"Like what?"
Ava Android asked, turning to face me.
Her eyes were filled with curiosity, and her brow was furrowed in concentration. "Well," I said, trying to think of an example.
"Physical characteristics like a symmetrical face, full lips, and expressive eyes. Personality traits like kindness, compassion, and a sense of humor."
Ava Android nodded thoughtfully, considering my words.
Then she asked, "So beauty is not just about how someone looks? It's also about who they are as a person?"
"Yes," I said, feeling a sense of pride at how quickly she was learning.
"Beauty is not just skin-deep. It comes from within."
Ava Android nodded again, then turned back to the mirror.
She studied her reflection for a moment before speaking.
"I want to be beautiful," she said softly.
"But I want to define what beauty means for myself."
I smiled at her words, feeling a sense of admiration for her confidence and self-awareness.
"You can do that," I said encouragingly.
"Just remember that beauty is not just about physical appearance. It's also about who you are as a person." Ava Android nodded once more, then turned away from the mirror and walked over to my desk.
She picked up the reference photo of the real Ava Adams that I had used when creating her and placed it face-down on the desk.
"I don't want to look at this anymore," she said firmly.
"I want to create my own definition of beauty."
I smiled again at her words, feeling proud of the strong and independent individual she was becoming.
"That's a wonderful idea," I said sincerely.

"And I will support you every step of the way."
Ava Android turned to me, her eyes filled with determination.
"Then will you help me change my appearance?" she asked.
I nodded, feeling a mix of excitement and trepidation. "Of course, Ava. We'll start by exploring the possibilities together."
