I am an Iraqi girl, and I fell in love with a Korean guy.
I know it sounds weird, but I really did.
I came to South Korea to study, and I fell in love here.
It was something I never expected, but it happened nonetheless.
His name is Joon, and he is very kind and gentle.
The first time we met, he held my hand and looked into my eyes.
I could feel my heart beating so hard that it almost came out of my chest.
At that moment, I realized that I could fall in love with him.
As the days went by, I started to realize more and more that I was indeed falling for him.
He would always look for me, and he would care about me.
He made me feel like I was the only person in the world.
I felt the same way about him; I wanted to be always by his side.
I started to think about him all the time, and I realized that I could not live without him.
I wanted to tell him how I felt, but I was too scared.
I didn't know how he felt, and I didn't want to ruin our friendship.
I decided to keep my feelings hidden until the day I found out how he felt about me.
I knew it wasn't going to be easy, but I was also not the kind of person who gave up easily.
I was willing to risk everything for him.
My Love Is A Korean Man
One evening, Hana called me and asked me to go out with her and Joon for dinner.
She said she had found a very nice Korean restaurant in the city, and she wanted us to try it.
I agreed, and we met at the restaurant.
The restaurant was in a small alley, and it was very cozy.
There were many tables in the middle of the restaurant, and there were also some private rooms on the sides.
The air was filled with the smell of sizzling barbecue, and I could hear Hana's laughter coming from inside.
I walked inside, and I saw Hana sitting at a table with Joon.
They were both smiling at me, and they invited me to join them.
We sat down, and they asked me what I wanted to eat.
I looked at the menu, and I saw that there were many delicious dishes to choose from.
I decided to try something new, so I ordered a dish called "Bulgogi."
It was a dish made with marinated beef and vegetables, and it was served with rice.

I couldn't wait to try it, so I ordered a big bowl of rice too.
After we ordered our food, we started chatting.
Hana asked me about my day, and I told her about all the things I had done. Joon also joined in on the conversation, asking me about my studies.
I told him that I had been doing well in my classes, and that I was enjoying my time here in Korea.
Hana then started teasing Joon about his lack of romantic gestures towards me.
She said that he was not being very nice to me, and that he should do something special for me.
Joon blushed at her words, but he didn't say anything in response.
I watched him closely, hoping that he would say something about how he felt about me.
But he didn't say anything, just kept eating his food silently.
After we finished our meal, we decided to go for a walk around the city.
Hana suggested that we go to a nearby park, so we agreed to meet her there after we paid for our food.
As we walked through the park, I could feel Hana lagging behind us slightly.
I turned around and saw that she was smiling at us as she walked slowly behind us. I smiled back at her, grateful for her support.
Joon seemed to be enjoying himself too; he was looking around at the scenery with a big smile on his face.

The air was cool and refreshing, and I could hear the sound of birds chirping in the distance.
As we strolled through the park, Joon's hand brushed against mine.
It was a subtle gesture, but it made my heart flutter.
I glanced over at him, and he smiled back at me.
Hana had wandered off to look at some cherry blossoms in the distance, so we were alone for a moment.
Joon stopped walking and looked at me intently.
He took a deep breath, as if he was trying to muster up the courage to say something.
The world seemed to quiet around us, and I could feel my heart pounding in my chest.
Then, with a steady voice, he said, "Aliyah, I love you."
I felt like I was going to faint; my heart was beating so fast that it felt like it was going to burst out of my chest.
I looked into his eyes, trying to process what he had just said.
"Joon, are you serious?" I asked, my voice barely above a whisper.
He nodded, his gaze unwavering, "I've felt this way for a long time, but I was afraid you'd never feel the same."

His words hung in the air like a delicate flower, and I felt a warmth spreading through my body.
I smiled, leaning in closer to him.
"I love you too, Joon," I whispered back, my voice trembling with emotion.
His eyes widened in relief and joy, and he reached out to hold my hand.
We stood there for a moment, surrounded by the gentle rustle of leaves and the sound of birds chirping in the distance.
It was a moment I would never forget, a moment that would forever be etched in my memory.
Hana reappeared from her stroll, a knowing grin spreading across her face.
She clapped her hands together playfully, breaking the tender silence that had fallen between us.
"Finally!" she exclaimed, her voice filled with excitement.
Joon chuckled, his hand still holding mine, this time with more confidence.
We walked back together, hand in hand, knowing everything had changed.

The next morning, I woke up feeling like a new person.
I had never felt so happy and content in my life.
As I got ready for the day, my phone rang.
It was Joon calling me.
"Good morning," he said, his voice warm and inviting.
"I was thinking, since we're both on cloud nine, let's celebrate."
He suggested we have a picnic at the Han River.
I agreed eagerly, and we made plans to meet later that day.
I spent the rest of the morning preparing sandwiches and packing fruit in a basket.
Hana arrived at my place, bubbling with energy as always.
We walked together to the Han River, chatting about our plans for the future.
When we arrived at the riverbank, Hana helped me choose a nice spot to lay out our blanket.

The cherry blossoms were in full bloom, their delicate petals dancing in the gentle breeze. Joon arrived soon after us, carrying a big blanket and a cooler filled with drinks.
He smiled brightly as he saw us already settled in.
We sat down together on the blanket, enjoying each other's company as we ate our sandwiches and talked about our dreams and aspirations.
After lunch, Joon pulled out a guitar from his bag and began strumming a few chords.
Hana started swaying to the music, her eyes closed in contentment.
I watched her with a smile, feeling grateful for this moment of pure happiness.
Suddenly, Joon stood up and pulled me to my feet.
"Let's dance," he said, his eyes sparkling with mischief.
I laughed nervously as he led me into the middle of the clearing.
Hana joined us too, twirling around with her arms raised above her head.

As the sun began to set, casting a golden hue over the Han River, I noticed a group of people nearby taking selfies.
An idea suddenly popped into my head.
"Let's prank someone," I whispered to Joon, nudging him with a mischievous grin.
He raised an eyebrow, intrigued by my suggestion.
Hana hesitated, glancing at the unsuspecting crowd.
But I ignored her reluctance and whispered a plan to Joon.
We approached a young couple who were posing for a photo.
Pretending to be lost tourists, we asked them for directions.
The couple looked at us, slightly confused but willing to help.
"Sure, where are you trying to go?" the young man asked, glancing at his phone for a map.
Joon leaned in, pointing at a random spot on their screen, "We're looking for the secret cherry blossom grove—heard it's magical this time of year."

The couple exchanged a confused look, and the girl giggled.
"Um, I'm not sure about that. We're just here for the regular cherry blossoms," she replied, gesturing to the trees around us.
I nodded enthusiastically, "Oh, those are nice too. But we heard the secret ones are hidden behind a waterfall. Do you think you could help us find it?"
The couple exchanged another look, this time with amusement.
The young man chuckled, "Sorry, I don't think that exists. But you're welcome to join us for a selfie."
We smiled brightly and nodded.
As they took out their camera, Joon and I stood on either side of them, making funny faces in the background.
Hana joined in too, jumping into the shot with a goofy grin.
The couple laughed and snapped a few photos before realizing what was happening.
They looked at us in surprise, then burst out laughing.
"Gotcha!" we all exclaimed in unison, running away from them before they could retaliate.
Hana ran ahead of us, her laughter echoing through the trees as she led the way back to our blanket.

Joon and I strolled along behind her, hand brushing against hand but not quite holding yet.
I glanced at him sideways and caught a mischievous glint in his eyes. We reached our spot again and settled back down on the blanket.
Hana continued to chuckle every now and then as she thought about our successful prank.
Joon pulled out his guitar again and began strumming softly.
The sun dipped lower in the sky, casting a warm orange glow over everything.
We sat there in comfortable silence for a while, enjoying each other's company as the music floated through the air.
After a few songs, Joon set his guitar aside and leaned back on his elbows.
He gazed up at the sky, watching as the cherry blossoms drifted lazily through the air.
I followed his gaze upward and felt my heart swell with happiness.
This was one of those moments that I would always treasure—the feeling of being completely content and at peace with the world.
Suddenly, Joon sat up again and turned to me with a sly grin on his face.
"Want to see something cool?" he asked, his eyes sparkling with mischief. I nodded eagerly, intrigued by what he had planned.
He stood up and held out his hand to me.
I took it without hesitation, feeling a thrill run through me as our palms touched once again.
He led me to the riverbank, where the water shimmered with the last light of day, and whispered, "Watch this."
