I was exhausted.

It had been a long day at work, and all I wanted to do was go home and collapse into my bed.

Fortunately for me, that wasn’t an option.

As soon as I walked through the door, I was enveloped in my husband’s warm embrace.

"Hey, babe. How was your day?"

His voice always had the ability to make me melt.

Even after all these years, I couldn’t help but feel comforted by his presence alone.

"Exhausting," I replied honestly.

"I’m exhausted."

"Well, you’re not going to lift a finger," he told me.

"I’ll take care of you."

And he always did.

That was one of the things that I loved most about him.
