My Devilishly Hot Roommate

Scenario:Legends tell of a devil named Vellyne, a powerful and cold-hearted female who nearly destroyed the world because of her anger. When a friend told me about her, I feel interested and try it at home. To my shock, it worked. The moment the smoke cleared, Vellyne stood before me. That was four months ago. I’ve grown used to her chatter and boundless energy. What people said was wrong, she was just a passionate and cheerful woman. But lately, something feels off. She always avoids me with a red face and is out of breath. Tonight, I came home late, only to find her waiting in my room. “Sir… I… My body feels so hot,” she said, pressing against me.

The first time I heard about Vellyne was in my senior year of high school.
Paulina Holland, a mutual friend of ours, told me the story.
I was skeptical, but I had to hear it.
After all, it was the most ridiculous thing I'd heard all year.
It stayed with me even after I graduated.
It stuck with me until I decided to test it out for myself.
That's when I found the ritual.
I gathered the things I needed, and I started it.
I wasn't really expecting anything to happen.
But then, a blinding flash of light enveloped me.
When it faded, there was a figure standing before me.
She had striking red hair and a mischievous grin.
"Hello, Ethan Windsor," she said cheerfully.
"Vellyne?"
I asked, not quite believing it.
"Yes. And you're my summoner."
"You're real."
"Last I checked."
"Why—why did you come when I called you?"
"I don't know. You'd have to ask your predecessor that."
"My predecessor?"
"The last person to call you. Yes, that's what I mean."
"How many predecessors do I have?"
"Only one. As far as I can tell, anyway. But I've only existed for a few centuries."
My Devilishly Hot Roommate
I stared at her in disbelief.
She was a devil, a real, honest-to-God devil.
And she was standing in my room.
"Vellyne," I said, stepping closer to her.
She didn't move away.
She just kept smiling at me.
"Vellyne, you're a devil."
"Yes. I am."
"Why did you come here?"
"I told you. You called me."
My Devilishly Hot Roommate
"And what do you want?"
"I don't want anything. I'm just here."
I looked at her for a long time.
She was so beautiful and so strange.
I'd never seen anyone like her before.
Finally, I decided to believe it.
I decided to believe that she was real.
I reached out and touched her face.
She flinched but didn't move away.
Her skin was warm and smooth under my fingers.
"You're real," I said again, still not quite believing it.
"Yes," she said, smiling at me.
"I'm real."
That was four months ago.
Since then, Vellyne has been living with me in my apartment.
It's been...interesting, to say the least.
She's always talking and laughing and getting into trouble.
But tonight is different.
When I came home from work, she was waiting for me in my room.
"Sir... I... My body feels so hot," she said, pressing against me. Her breathing was labored and her cheeks were flushed in the dim light of the room.
She looked different than usual—more desperate and less playful than I'd ever seen her before.
I stepped closer to her, reaching out to touch her forehead with the back of my hand.
She flinched away from me, but she didn't move out of my reach.
My hand felt heat radiating off of her skin even before I made contact with it.
"You're sick," I said, feeling a pang of worry in my chest.
My Devilishly Hot Roommate
"No... not sick... it's different," she whispered, gripping my sleeve with both hands and pulling herself closer to me again.
Her red hair fell around us like a curtain as she leaned in even closer to me, pressing her face against my neck and inhaling deeply through her nose. The scent of smoke and citrus filled my nose as she breathed in my ear, "Sir... please..."
I stumbled backward, trying to get away from her.
But she held onto me tightly, her body pressed against mine in a way that was both familiar and strange.
Even through our clothes, I could feel the heat emanating off of her skin.
It was burning my hands where she touched me.
"Let me check your temperature," I said, reaching up to touch her forehead again.
She caught my wrist in her hand before I could make contact with her.
Her grip was weak, and her fingers trembled around my arm as she pulled it down to her side.
"No, Sir... I need..." she panted, her eyes fixed on mine and glazed over with red.
I glanced past her at the old book lying open on my desk.
It was the one I'd used to summon her four months ago. I edged toward the desk, still supporting Vellyne's weight with one arm around her back and the other holding one of her hands.
My Devilishly Hot Roommate
She didn't resist as I moved, but she leaned into me heavily, still panting and pressing her face against my neck.
When we reached the desk, I flipped the book closed and ran my fingers over the cover thoughtfully for a moment.
It had been a long time since I'd looked at it.
I wasn't sure what to expect when I opened it again.
The pages were yellowed with age and crackled under my fingers as I opened them to the binding ritual section.
The words were written in an archaic language that was difficult to decipher, but I managed to make out most of them as I read through the passage slowly. The ritual described in those pages was the same one I'd used to summon Vellyne four months ago.
But there was another section below it—a section titled "Controlling Devils."
I read through that section quickly, trying to find some mention of a devil's fever or any other symptom that matched what Vellyne was showing now.
Finally, on the last page of that section, I found something that matched what Vellyne had said earlier about needing me to help control it.
According to this book, a devil's fever could only be controlled by their summoner's power.
My Devilishly Hot Roommate
I flipped through the rest of the book quickly, looking for more information about how exactly to do that.
But there was nothing else that matched what Vellyne needed right now.
I set the book down and turned back to her.
She'd slumped against my shoulder, her face pressed against my neck and her red hair hanging down around us like a curtain.
Her skin was burning hot against mine, and her sweat-dampened shirt clung to her body in a way that made my breath catch in my throat.
The binding ritual mentioned transferring power through physical contact, but it didn't say anything about how to do that.
It was frustratingly vague.
I shifted my grip on Vellyne to support her better, and she whimpered in response, pressing her face against me and nuzzling my neck.
Her lips brushed my skin, sending a jolt of electricity through me.
I cupped her face in my hands and tilted it up toward mine.
"Ethan, please... I can't hold on much longer," she murmured, her eyes pleading with a vulnerability I'd never seen before.
"What do you need me to do, Vellyne?" I asked, my voice steady despite the storm of emotions swirling inside me.
My Devilishly Hot Roommate
"Just trust your instincts," she whispered, her breath warm against my lips, "and let your power flow into me."
I cradled her burning face between my palms, her desperate gasps filling the silence of my bedroom.
My thumbs traced the flushed curve of her cheeks as understanding slowly dawned on me—these past months of friendship, her recent avoidance, this fever consuming her.
The binding ritual spoke of power transfer, but this was something more primal and ancient.
When she nuzzled into my touch with a whimper, I saw my own longing reflected in her crimson eyes.
My heart pounded in my chest as I leaned closer, drawn by an instinct I couldn't ignore.
My Devilishly Hot Roommate
"Vellyne," I whispered, my lips brushing against her forehead.
She trembled beneath my touch, clutching at my shirt with both hands.
"I need to tell you something."
I leaned down, pressing my lips to her forehead.
Her skin burned against mine, but I held fast.
She gasped and clutched at my shirt even tighter, her body shaking with the force of her trembling.
When I finally pulled back to look into her face, her eyes were wide and glassy with fever.
Before I could say anything, she surged upward and pressed her lips to mine.
My Devilishly Hot Roommate
The moment our mouths touched, a jolt of electricity shot through me, making warmth flood my entire body.
My vision blurred around the edges, and my head spun dizzily.
I felt strange energy pulsing through me, as if Vellyne was channeling her power directly into me through our kiss.
I broke the kiss and gasped for air as waves of energy coursed through me.
Vellyne slumped against me, her fever finally beginning to subside.
I held her close, my arms wrapped tightly around her waist.
As our powers mingled, a soft glow began to emanate from our joined hands, spreading across the walls of my bedroom in intricate patterns.
Ancient symbols materialized, etched into the air in shimmering light.
My Devilishly Hot Roommate
They were runes I'd never seen before, but somehow I knew exactly what they meant.
Vellyne's eyes widened as she traced the symbols with trembling fingers.
When she touched them, the runes pulsed in response, their light intensifying.
She leaned in closer, whispering against my ear, "When devil and mortal join as one, the seal of ages shall be undone."
I stared at the glowing runes, watching as they floated around us, casting strange shadows on Vellyne's face.
Her fingers continued to trace the symbols, and with each touch, their light pulsed brighter.
The energy from our kiss still coursed through me, making my skin tingle where her body pressed against mine.
Vellyne shifted in my arms, her fever now a gentle warmth.
Her fiery red hair cascaded down around us like a curtain, casting a fiery glow over everything.
She leaned closer, her lips brushing against my ear.
I felt her breath send shivers down my spine.
My heart pounded in my chest as her hands slid up my torso, stopping over the spot where my pulse raced wildly.
"Do you feel it too?" she murmured, her voice barely above a whisper.
I nodded, unable to find my voice, the truth of our connection settling heavily between us.
My Devilishly Hot Roommate
"This is what they've been trying to keep from us," she continued, her eyes locking onto mine with a fierce determination.
I pulled her closer, my hands trembling against her back as the glowing runes swirled faster around us.
Her eyes held mine with an intensity I'd never seen before.
The air crackled with energy, and I felt an irresistible force drawing me toward her.
I leaned in, my lips meeting hers once more.
This time, the kiss was softer, but the power still surged through me, making my skin tingle and my vision blur.
My Devilishly Hot Roommate
The runes flared blindingly bright around us, casting a fiery glow over everything.
The mysterious symbols began spinning rapidly, creating a vortex of light that enveloped us both.
I cradled Vellyne in my arms, the vortex of runes swirling around us.
The symbols danced across her face, casting a mesmerizing pattern of light and shadow.
Her fingers traced patterns on my chest, and I felt the mystical energy flowing between us.
The air crackled with power, making my skin tingle wherever she touched me.
When she looked up at me, her eyes were vulnerable and wide.
My Devilishly Hot Roommate
For a moment, I saw past the devil's fiery spirit to the woman who had brought so much joy into my life these past months.
My chest tightened as she whispered against my ear, "They've been trying to keep us apart. But we won't let them."
Without hesitation, I pulled her closer and pressed my forehead to hers.
The runes pulsed brighter, their light illuminating our joined faces.
