MidReal Story

My Devilishly Hot Roommate

Scenario:Legends tell of a devil named Vellyne, a powerful and cold-hearted female who nearly destroyed the world because of her anger. When a friend told me about her, I feel interested and try it at home. To my shock, it worked. The moment the smoke cleared, Vellyne stood before me. That was four months ago. I’ve grown used to her chatter and boundless energy. What people said was wrong, she was just a passionate and cheerful woman. But lately, something feels off. She always avoids me with a red face and is out of breath. Tonight, I came home late, only to find her waiting in my room. “Sir… I… My body feels so hot,” she said, pressing against me.

I never believed in the story of Vellyne until I summoned her myself.
The first time I heard of her was when my friend told me the legend.
"You have to say her name three times and look at a candle flame. Then she’ll appear."
My friend had given me a copy of the chant, but I had been skeptical.
I didn’t believe that I could summon a devil just by saying a few words.
It sounded too easy.
Besides, there was no way that I was going to fall for something so ridiculous.
I was smarter than that.
But then, a few days later, I had been sitting at my desk, staring at a piece of paper with the chant scrawled on it.
It had read: "Vellyne, Vellyne, Vellyne."
Almost absent-mindedly, I said the words out loud.
"Vellyne, Vellyne, Vellyne."
Then, looking for something to do with my hands, I glanced at the red candle flame dancing on my desk.
Nothing had happened.
At first, I had thought.
Then I felt something strange in the air.
It had been hard to describe.
It had been like a buzzing or a vibration or something.
"I summon you, Vellyne—"
Wait, I had thought suddenly.
What was I doing?
