It was just a coincidence.
I never thought I would get involved in the music industry, especially since I had no experience and had even dropped out of college.
But life was full of surprises.
If I hadn't gone to get that tattoo, I would have never met the manager and agent of my favorite band, Cherry Bomb.
And if I hadn't run into them again by chance, I wouldn't have received that job offer.
Looking back now, my life before that was so uneventful, as if I had been sleepwalking through it.
But everything changed when I discovered my passion for music promotion.
It all began with an unexpected encounter with the band manager and agent while I was getting a tattoo.
And from that moment on, my life became more interesting and complex.
I got involved with the music industry and became friends with the band members, especially Shuichi Matsumoto, the lead vocalist of Cherry Bomb.
My job involved organizing tours and events for various bands, and sometimes I had to deal with difficult fans or last-minute changes.
But despite the challenges, I loved my job and felt grateful to be able to do what I enjoyed every day.
The music industry was not just about entertainment; it was also about business and promotion.
Sometimes things didn't go as planned, but that was all part of the experience.
My Cherry Bomb Crush
I followed Shuichi through the dimly lit corridor of their practice studio.
The smell of cigarettes and stale beer wafted through the air, a familiar scent that reminded me of late-night parties and impromptu jam sessions.
Shuichi punched in the security code, and the door creaked open to reveal a cramped room filled with musical equipment.
The other band members were already there, engaged in casual conversation as they tuned their instruments.
They glanced up as we entered, their expressions ranging from mild curiosity to indifference.
"Hey guys," Shuichi greeted them, dropping his bag onto the floor.
"This is Yumi, our new manager."
He gestured towards me, and I nodded awkwardly, feeling a bit self-conscious under their scrutiny.
"Nice to meet you," I said, forcing a smile.
The other band members barely acknowledged my presence, too engrossed in their own conversations to pay much attention to me.

Shuichi picked up his guitar and began strumming a few chords, signaling the start of their practice session.
As they played, I observed the subtle tensions between them—the drummer occasionally missing a beat, the bassist shooting irritated glances at the lead guitarist. It was clear that they had been together long enough to develop their own dynamics and quirks, but also long enough for those quirks to become sources of frustration.
As they played on, I noticed that Shuichi seemed particularly agitated, his brow furrowed in concentration as he sang into the microphone.
Suddenly, he stopped mid-song and turned to glare at the drummer.
"What's wrong with you today?" he snapped.
The drummer looked taken aback by Shuichi's outburst, but he quickly recovered his composure.
"Nothing's wrong with me," he retorted.
"You're just being your usual picky self."
Shuichi's eyes narrowed dangerously, and I could tell that things were about to escalate further.
But before he could respond, the bassist spoke up, his voice dripping with irritation.

"Can we just focus on playing music instead of bickering like children?"
Shuichi turned his glare towards the bassist, but before he could say anything else, the bassist stood up and stormed out of the room without another word. The rest of us were left staring at each other in awkward silence for a moment before Shuichi finally broke the tension.
"Well," he said with a sigh, running a hand through his hair.
"I guess that went well."
I leaned against the wall, watching Shuichi pace back and forth in front of the door as he chain-smoked one cigarette after another.
The drummer slumped in his chair, aggressively tapping his sticks against his thigh in a staccato beat.
The guitarist sat with his head down, fiddling with his phone as if he hadn't noticed the thick atmosphere of tension that filled the room.
After five minutes of suffocating silence, I finally cleared my throat to speak.
"Let's take fifteen," I said, trying to sound more authoritative than I felt.

"Get some air, grab a drink."
Shuichi shot me a sharp look, but he crushed his cigarette in the ashtray without arguing.
The drummer immediately stood up, muttering something under his breath as he headed for the door.
As the door closed behind them, I realized that managing a band was going to be more challenging than I had ever imagined.
