I am a 19 year old Korean boy.
My taeil owns a K-pop company called Pop Pink.
I'm dating Kai, who is a member of Emotional History, also under Pop Pink.
I've been dating him for three years and we're happy together.
I'm also three months pregnant.
Yes, men can get pregnant in this world.
It's not common, but it happens.
And I never thought it would happen to me.
I found out I was pregnant after I went to the doctor because I was feeling sick.
Kai was with me the whole time, holding my hand and being so sweet.
When the doctor told me I was pregnant, I was shocked.
I didn't know what to say.
Kai was happy, truly happy, and that made me feel better.
He hugged me tightly and kissed my forehead.
"I'm going to be a dad," he said, his voice filled with joy.
I couldn't help but smile at his happiness.
"Yes, you are."
The doctor performed an ultrasound to confirm the pregnancy and to check on the baby's progress.
When he showed us the baby on the screen, Kai couldn't stop smiling.
"Is that the baby?"
Kai asked, his voice barely above a whisper.
"Yes," Dr. Lee said.
"Congratulations, you two."
Kai couldn't stop staring at the baby on the screen.
My Boyfriend In The Womb
After a long day of dance practice, I trudge back to my dorm, my muscles aching and my mind buzzing with the choreography we had to perfect.
The sound of metal clanking and frustrated muttering greets me before I even open the door.
I pause, wondering what could be causing the commotion.
When I push open the door, I'm met with a sight that makes me pause in my tracks.
Kai is sitting cross-legged on the floor, surrounded by scattered instruction papers and shiny metal parts.
My Boyfriend In The Womb
Before him stands a half-assembled white crib, its pieces jutting out at odd angles as if it's trying to defy gravity.
He hasn't noticed me yet, too engrossed in his mission to conquer the assembly manual.
His brow is furrowed in concentration, and his usually perfectly styled hair is messed up from running his fingers through it in frustration.
My Boyfriend In The Womb
I lean against the doorframe, watching him mutter under his breath as he tries to force two metal bars together that refuse to click into place.
The pieces of our future daughter's crib cover most of my dorm room floor, creating an obstacle course of white-painted metal and plastic parts.
A fond smile spreads across my face as I watch him turn the manual sideways, studying it with furrowed brows.
My back aches from practice, but seeing him here, trying his best despite his obvious confusion, makes everything feel right.
I step into the room, carefully navigating around the scattered crib parts on the floor.
My back twinges as I lower myself onto the edge of the bed, watching him struggle.
He's still muttering under his breath, completely absorbed in the manual.
The sight of his furrowed brow and determined focus, despite his clear confusion, makes my chest tighten with affection.
I can't help but break the silence.
My Boyfriend In The Womb
"Kai, sweetheart," I call out, my voice echoing in the small dorm room.
He looks up, startled, a sheepish grin spreading across his face.
"Hey," he says, scratching the back of his head, "I thought I'd surprise you by setting this up before you got back."
I chuckle softly, shaking my head. "It's okay, love. I appreciate the effort, but maybe we should tackle it together?"
He nods, a hint of relief in his eyes.
"Sure, sure. I could use an extra set of hands."
I slide down to sit on the floor beside him, reaching for one of the metal bars.
But just as my fingers close around it, a sharp cramp hits my abdomen, making me wince.
The bar slips from my grasp and clatters to the floor.
Kai's head snaps up, his eyes wide with concern.
"No, no," he says, quickly abandoning the manual and grabbing my shoulders.
"You're pregnant. You shouldn't be lifting anything."
"I'm fine," I protest weakly, but he's already pulling me back to the bed.
His hands are gentle but insistent as he guides me back to a sitting position.
My Boyfriend In The Womb
We sit together in silence, the half-assembled crib a testament to our shared journey ahead.
I sit on the floor of my dorm, watching June grab at the now-assembled white crib bars, trying to pull herself up to stand.
Her tiny fingers grip the rails as she wobbles on unsteady legs.
The crib that gave Kai so much trouble months ago now has teeth marks and scratches from our daughter's determined attempts to explore.
My back still aches from dance practice, but I can't help crawling closer when she babbles "Appa" and reaches for me.
Kai enters the room, wiping his hands on a towel, and grins at the sight.
My Boyfriend In The Womb
"Looks like she's already trying to escape," he jokes, leaning over the crib to ruffle June's hair.
I laugh softly, watching her giggle at his touch.
