Chapter 1
I was a girl for a day.
One day, I was a boy, and the next, I was a girl.
It happened so suddenly that I didn’t even have time to process it.
I woke up in the morning as usual, got dressed in my school uniform, and went to school.
But when I got there, everything changed.
A goddess appeared before me and granted me magical powers.
She said she had been watching me for a while and that she wanted to make my life more interesting.
So she gave me the power to transform into a magical girl at will.
The only problem?
She thought I was a girl!
She waved her hand and muttered a few words, and suddenly I was engulfed in a bright light.
When the light faded away, I was dressed in a frilly pink skirt with long stockings that went all the way up my legs.
My hair had grown several inches and had become a soft shade of red.
I looked down at myself in shock, unable to believe what had just happened.
"No! This can’t be happening!"I cried out.
"What did you do to me?"
"I transformed you into a magical girl,"the goddess replied calmly.
"You’ll get used to it soon enough. In fact, I think you’ll come to like your new form quite a bit."
"N-no! You have to change me back right now!"
I begged.
"I don’t want to be a girl! Please!"
The goddess shook her head.
"I’m sorry, but I can’t do that. You’ll need these powers if you want to survive what’s coming."
"What do you mean?"
I asked, confused.
"You’ll find out soon enough,"she replied with a mysterious smile.
"Now run along, little one. Go be the best magical girl you can be!"
And with that, she vanished into thin air, leaving me all alone in the middle of the schoolyard.
I stood there for a moment in shock before I finally managed to gather my wits about me.
I took a deep breath and closed my eyes, focusing on my new powers as best as I could.
"Magical Boy Metamorphosis!"I shouted at the top of my lungs.
A bright light wrapped around me once again as my body began to change shape.
By the time the light faded away, I was back in my old form again: Alex Mercer—accidental magical girl!
It had been almost two months since that fateful day when everything changed for me.
For some reason, no one seemed to notice that I wasn’t who I appeared to be; they all just accepted it without question…
That is all except for Mia!
She had been my friend for as long as I could remember, and she was the first person to find out my secret.
It wasn’t like I had planned on telling her; it just sort of happened that way…
And now we were in this together—whether we liked it or not!
I looked at myself in the mirror and sighed as I ran my fingers through my long red hair.
It still felt strange to see myself like this after all these weeks; sometimes I even wondered if it was all just some crazy dream…
But as much as I wished that were true, the truth was that this was now my reality—and there was no going back from here on out!
