I was a little taken aback when I first met Jaxon.
We were both very handsome, tall, muscular, and had wonderful bodies.
I had four gorgeous human legs.
My four human feet were gorgeous, and I loved to swim because it gave me the freedom to move about as I pleased underwater.
I could swim fast or slow, whichever I wanted, and I loved the feeling of weightlessness while I was swimming.
It was like being in outer space, but I didn’t have to leave my planet to get that feeling.
Jaxon had been so enthusiastic when we first met, and he had asked me lots of questions about my legs.
He didn’t ask how I got them or why I had them; he was just glad that I did.
He thought they were beautiful, and he told me how much he admired my strength and my ability to adapt to having them.
I think he admired that trait in me more than he did my actual legs.
I didn’t mind; I was happy to have someone who wanted to be friends with me.
I knew it was because of my uniqueness that he wanted to be friends with me, but that was ok with me.

We sat by the edge of the pool, our legs dangling in the water.
The afternoon sun reflected off the ripples, creating a mesmerizing dance of light.
I lifted my legs up and down, demonstrating how they moved in perfect coordination.
Each foot cut through the water with grace, as if performing a choreographed routine.
Jaxon watched intently, his eyes following the synchronized motion of my limbs.
"Wow, it’s like a symphony," he marveled.
"How does it feel to swim with four legs?"
I smiled, pleased that he was genuinely interested.
"It’s amazing," I replied.
"The extra limbs give me more power and speed in the water. I can dive deeper and stay underwater longer than most people."
Merman
Jaxon’s curiosity was palpable.
"Do you ever get tangled up in your own legs?" he asked, his brow furrowed with concern.
I chuckled, shaking my head.
"No, not at all. My body has adapted to having four legs. It’s become second nature to me."
He nodded thoughtfully, his eyes still fixed on my moving limbs.
Merman
"That must be incredible," he mused.
After our swim, Jaxon and I settled on lounge chairs beside the pool.
I dried my four legs with a towel, while he ran his fingers through his damp hair.
He couldn’t stop glancing at my legs, but not in the way others usually did.
There was no discomfort or unease in his gaze, just genuine fascination.
I noticed him studying my lower limbs intently, as if trying to understand the intricacies of their movement.
"Hey," he said suddenly, leaning forward in his chair.
"Can you show me something?"
"Sure," I replied, curious about what he wanted to see.
He gestured towards my legs.
"How do you control each one? Like, can you move them separately?"
Merman
I smiled, happy to demonstrate.
"Yes, of course. Watch this."
I lifted one leg up, keeping the other three still.
Then I lowered it and lifted another one, repeating the motion with each leg in turn.
Jaxon’s eyes widened in amazement as he watched me move each limb independently. "Wow," he breathed.
"That’s incredible. It’s like a little dance."
I laughed, feeling a sense of pride in my unique ability.
"It does feel like a dance sometimes," I admitted.
"I’ve learned to coordinate them over time. It’s become second nature to me."
Jaxon nodded thoughtfully, his eyes still fixed on my legs.
"I can imagine," he said softly.
"It must be amazing to have that kind of control over your body."
I shrugged, feeling a bit self-conscious under his intense scrutiny.
"It’s just something I’ve learned to live with," I replied humbly.
He leaned back in his chair again, running a hand through his damp hair once more.
Merman
"So," he said casually, "do you ever wish you had more legs?"
I paused, considering his question, then shook my head with a smile.
