My name is Jiwoo Kim, and I am a 17-year-old high school student.
I have a 4.0 GPA, am the president of the student council, and am considered one of the prettier girls in my school.
My parents are both wealthy and well-educated, my father being a successful lawyer and my mother a renowned pianist.
They are both graduates of Seoul National University, the top university in Korea.
Because of all this, it is expected of me to attend SNU and major in something respectable like law, medicine, or business.
But that isn't what I want.
My true passion is music production.
I've dabbled in it since I was 14, using FL Studio to create my own beats and remixes of popular Kpop songs.
I even ghost-produced a few tracks for lesser-known idols and indie artists under a pseudonym.
They were well-received, and I was offered payment for my work, but I refused.
I only did it because I loved it, and I want to do the same thing as a career.
Unfortunately, my parents refuse to let me major in music technology or anything related at SNU or any other university.
