That’s the story of my life.
Well, at least so far.
Meeting online wasn’t strange to us anymore, so we didn’t bother explaining it to anyone except for my grandma.
She thought it was weird, but she loved Jack anyway.
He sent her flowers on her birthday, and that won her heart.
He always knew how to make people love him.
I remember the first message I sent him.
It was something like "Hi, I’m Emily."
Not very creative at all.
Not like him.
His first message was "Hi, beautiful."
Not romantic or original either, but I always smile whenever I remember it.
Maybe because it was him who sent it, or maybe because it was exactly what I needed then—a simple hello from someone new.
We talked about everything except for the weather.
We talked about books and movies, music and art, philosophy and politics, life goals and dreams.
We talked about our families and friends, past relationships and hurts.
We exchanged photos and videos after a week of talking.
I was right.
He was goodlooking with his rugged beard and sharp jawline.
