I love history, everything about it.
Maybe because my father is a historian, a very famous one, I’ve been surrounded by ancient books and artifacts since I was a little boy.
Now, I’m a historian myself, already known in the academic world for my theories about societal development.
Well, developing societies are what interest me the most, so when I got a chance to visit the ancient Naxi Kingdom, I didn’t hesitate to accept it.
Naxi Kingdom, where is it?
It locates in the northwestern Yunnan Province of China, on the southeast side of the Himalayas and stretches across the Hengduan Mountains.
The famous Jade Dragon Snow Mountain and Lugu Lake are both within its territory.
It’s said that the Naxi people were descendants of the Qiang people who lived in southwestern China around 2,000 years ago.
We know little about the Qiang people and even less about the Naxi people, but there’s one thing we know for sure: they’re matrilineal.
That’s right, you heard me correctly.
In the Naxi Kingdom, women were the heads of families.
When a couple married, they didn’t live together.
The man went to see his wife at night and left early in the morning to work.
The woman was the one who made all family decisions and held all rights of inheritance.
There’re also many other things that men don’t do there, but you get the idea.
When my plane landed at Lijiang City, I was so excited that I almost jumped out of my skin!
The ancient Chinese city is surrounded by mountains on four sides.
Jade Dragon Snow Mountain is to the north while Lion Mountain is to the west.
The two mountains look like a dragon playing with a ball (the ball is Lion Mountain) from afar!
This view is so awesome!
I can hardly wait to explore the mysteries of human civilization development!
I can hardly wait to meet the Mosuo Elders!
I may even learn something that’ll totally change my current theories!
I walked into my office with my luggage, ready to check my email before heading out, when I saw the scroll on my desk!
I picked it up, surprised because I’d never seen it before, and it showed the Naxi Kingdom’s map!
But it was definitely not a copy of any map I’d ever seen!
I couldn’t think of any reason why someone would play such a prank on me, so I asked other professors if they knew anything about it.
But I got nothing, so I decided to take it home for a closer look, maybe I’d find something useful on it.
When I got back home, I stared at the scroll for hours, but still, nothing came to mind, so I decided to take a break and grabbed a can of beer from the fridge.
Just as I put the can to my mouth, the room started spinning, then everything went dark.
When I woke up again, everything looked different.
The room had changed, the sun had moved in the sky…
Lugu Lake is the center of the Naxi Kingdom’s territory, and the Mosuo Elders once told me that whoever drinks from Lugu Lake will be bound to the kingdom, forever!
I looked at the scroll and put it in my pocket before running towards Lugu Lake.
I’d decided to find the Mosuo Elders first because they must’ve had something to do with this!
But when I got to Lige Island in the middle of the lake, I suddenly changed my mind and decided to drink the water instead.
I’m not sure why, but that’s what I did.
I walked to the lakeshore and took off my shoes and socks before stepping into the water.
It was ice-cold and soaked my pants all the way up to my knees before I could stop myself from moving forward and lowering my head to drink the water as if something had possessed me.
Just as the water touched my lips, everything went dark again and I lost consciousness for the second time that day!
When he woke up again, he found himself lying on his back in the forest and the sun had already set.
He felt like he’d been sleeping for hours, but he didn’t remember how he got here at all?
He tried to sit up, but his head hurt badly, so he couldn’t see anything at all.
He put a hand on his forehead and tried to massage the pain away, but he couldn’t help but feel a little curious about how he got here?
And more importantly, where is here?
He slowly opened his eyes, but the world spun around him, so he quickly shut them again and sat still for several minutes.
He took a deep breath and opened his eyes again.
The world still seemed a little fuzzy, but he could see that he was in the middle of the forest and the sky was full of stars above him.

However, many patriarchal societies started to rise at that time, which threatened to destroy the Naxi Kingdom.
Over time, many local governments were forced to adopt patriarchal systems in order to survive, leading to dramatic changes within their society.
These changes weren’t always for the better, and many of them contributed to the kingdom’s decline.
Additionally, political turmoil caused many territories to break away from the kingdom, leading to a decline in overall influence and power.
Teahorse Town was once the capital of the Naxi Kingdom, and its prosperity surpassed that of Dali, Shuhe, Baisha, Lijiang, and other famous towns.
However, thousands of years later, Teahorse Town was no longer known as the capital of the Naxi Kingdom because of its decline.
Lugu Lake was still surrounded by mountains on all four sides, but Lin Xuan could tell that it was different from what he remembered.
It seemed like an ancient evil had taken over this land and was about to destroy everything!
His heart sank as he realized that there was no way to save this world, which was doomed to be destroyed by patriarchal societies and political turmoil.
“Don’t be sad.
Everything is meant to change.
It’s not difficult to save our world, you just need to know how to do it.”
Lin Xuan jumped and turned to see Maya, who was looking at him with a smile.
The lake was right behind her, and the sky was bathed in the warm light of the setting sun.
His heart skipped a beat when he saw her, and he quickly looked away, pretending that he wasn’t staring at her.
“Princess, you’re awake!”
Maya shook her head and said, “It’s not your fault, you don’t have to feel guilty.

The island wasn’t big, so they soon arrived at the pier where they had left their boat.
As they were about to get on the boat, one of Maya’s attendants came running towards them in a panic.

The elders are calling for you!”
Maya’s face turned pale when she heard what the attendant said.
She quickly got on the boat and told Lin Xuan to row as fast as he could.
Lin Xuan quickly obeyed and rowed as fast as he could.
The weather was very nice, but the atmosphere on the boat was very tense and no one said a word along the way.
They soon arrived at the shore, and Maya got off the boat as soon as it was close enough.
She ran towards the elders’ house, with Lin Xuan hot on her heels.
When they arrived, the elders were already waiting for them.
One of the elders said, “Princess, we’ve just received news that a group of people have entered our territory and are heading towards Gemu Peak!”
Maya’s face turned pale, and she quickly asked, “Who are they?
What do they want?”
The elders exchanged a look and said, “We don’t know who they are, but we’re sure that they’re up to no good!
We have to stop them before it’s too late!”
With that, the elders cast a spell and disappeared into thin air.
Maya and Lin Xuan quickly followed suit, but when they arrived at Gemu Peak, they were greeted by an unexpected sight.
In the Naxi Kingdom, the matrilineal clans were governed by matriarchs, who were chosen based on their wisdom, strength, and leadership abilities.
These matriarchs came from different clans, but they shared a system of property and leadership that promoted gender equality, respect, and love for one another.
The kingdom’s philosophy and practices were very different from the patrilineal societies that Lin Xuan was familiar with.
In these matrilineal societies, women held the power and made the important decisions, while men were responsible for taking care of the household and raising the children.
The men did not own any property, and they were not allowed to participate in the political process or hold any positions of power.
The women were the breadwinners, and they took care of their husbands and children by providing them with food, clothing, and shelter.
To Lin Xuan, it seemed like a perfect utopia where everyone was treated equally and fairly, regardless of their gender.
However, he soon realized that there were flaws in this system, as well as its own set of problems, just like any other society in the world.
However, the Naxi people were determined to make it work, and they did not give up on their ideals and values.
Lin Xuan admired their courage and determination, and he hoped that he would be able to help them in some way.
He was so lost in his thoughts that he didn’t notice when Maya entered the room and sat down next to him.
She looked at him with a smile and said, “What are you thinking about?”

Maya quickly exited the room with her attendants in tow.
Lin Xuan quickly followed her and asked, “What happened?
Why do you look so worried?”
Maya looked at him and said, “You’ll know when we get to the palace.
We don’t have much time, so please hurry.”
Lin Xuan nodded and quickly followed her to the palace.
When they arrived, Maya led Lin Xuan to the palace hall, where several matriarchs and leaders of influential clans were already waiting for her.
They all stood up and bowed as soon as she entered the room.
“Your Highness, we’ve been waiting for you.”
Maya nodded and said, “Thank you for coming.”
The matriarchs and leaders quickly sat down and waited for Maya to take her seat before they spoke.
One of them said, “Princess, why did you suddenly call for this meeting?
Maya quickly glanced at Lin Xuan and said, “This is Lin Xuan, a historian from a foreign kingdom who has come to our kingdom to help us with our current situation.
The matriarchs and leaders looked at Lin Xuan in surprise and said, “It’s an honor to meet you, Master Lin.”
Lin Xuan quickly stood up and said, “Thank you, it’s an honor to meet all of you as well.”
Maya nodded and said, “Master Lin, please take a seat.”
Lin Xuan quickly sat down and waited for Maya to explain why she had called for this meeting.
Maya took a deep breath and said, “As some of you may know, our kingdom is currently facing a great crisis.
Several influential figures in the court have proposed that we transition from a matrilineal to a patrilineal system, and they have already started to gather support for their cause.
I fear that if we don’t take action soon, our kingdom will be in great danger.”
The matriarchs and leaders all looked at each other in shock and disbelief.
One of them said, “But Princess, how could anyone propose such a thing?
Our kingdom has always been a matrilineal society, and our way of life is based on those principles.
Maya nodded and said, “I know, but unfortunately, there are people who believe that our way of life is outdated and that we need to modernize and adapt to the changing times.
They believe that by transitioning to a patrilineal system, we will be able to attract more men to our kingdom and ensure our survival.
But what they fail to realize is that by doing so, we would be betraying our ancestors and everything they stood for.
Our way of life is what makes us unique and special, and if we abandon it, we will lose not only our identity but also our pride as Naxi women.”
The matriarchs and leaders all fell silent and thought about what Maya had just said.
Finally, one of them spoke up and said, “Your Highness, I agree with your concerns, but I have to admit that our matrilineal system does have its flaws.
For example, it is difficult for us to determine who should be the rightful heir to the throne when the current heiress is unable to produce an heir of her own.
Another one added, “And because our society is female-centered, we often run into problems when dealing with other kingdoms and societies that are male-centered, as they are unwilling to take us seriously and see us as equals.
It is for these reasons that I believe we need to seriously consider transitioning to a patrilineal system, or at least make some changes to our current system so that we can better adapt to the changing times.”
The matriarchs and leaders all nodded in agreement, and Maya fell silent as she thought about what they had just said.
Lin Xuan, who was listening to their conversation, couldn’t help but feel sorry for Maya.
He now understood why she had called for this meeting and why she looked so worried earlier.
As the heiress of the kingdom, she had to deal with these kinds of issues on a regular basis, and she had to make difficult decisions that would affect the lives of many people.

Why would any man in their right mind want to put themselves at risk like that?”
The first matriarch said, “That is true, but we cannot deny the fact that men are stronger and more powerful than us, and that they have the ability to protect us and ensure our survival in ways that we cannot.
And besides, if the prophecy is true and the arrival of a male figure from the outside world is inevitable, then it is up to us to decide whether he will be our savior or our downfall.
We should not let our prejudices and fears get in the way of making the right decision for our kingdom.”
At the mention of the prophecy, the matriarchs and leaders all fell silent and looked at each other with concern.
One of them said, “I had almost forgotten about the prophecy.

“I’m sorry you had to go through all that,” Lin Xuan said, “but I’m sure you’ll figure something out soon enough.
After all, you’re the smartest and most capable person I know, so I’m sure you’ll be able to come up with a solution that will make everyone happy.”
“Thank you,” Maya said, “but what I need right now is a way to protect you from those who see you as a threat to their power and authority.
Which is why I would like to propose an alliance between the two of us.
With my authority as the heiress of the kingdom, I will be able to provide you with protection and ensure your safety, as long as you agree to help me navigate the political complexities of the palace and deal with those who are trying to undermine my rule.

“We have always believed that our way of life was the best and only way for us to live,” Maya said, “but lately, there have been some who have started questioning our beliefs and traditions and suggesting that we should change our ways and adopt a patriarchal system instead.
If that were to happen, it would mean the end of our kingdom as we know it, and I refuse to let that happen.
I will do whatever it takes to preserve our way of life and protect my people from those who wish to do them harm.
As she spoke, Lin Xuan could see the determination and resolve in Maya’s eyes, and he knew that she was not someone to be trifled with.
He also knew that she would need all the help she could get if she was going to succeed in her mission, which is why he had no qualms about lending her his assistance.

You must go there and retrieve it as soon as possible.”
“What are you waiting for?”
Lin Xuan’s heart skipped a beat when he heard what the council member said, and he knew that he had to act fast if he was going to save Maya and the Kingdom of Women from disaster.
As soon as he got back to his room, he put together a team of warriors and set out for the Valley of the Saints.
The journey was long and arduous, but he refused to give up, no matter what obstacles stood in his way.
Along the way, they were attacked by fierce wild animals, ambushed by enemy soldiers, and forced to cross treacherous terrain, but they never stopped moving forward.
Eventually, they reached the valley and began to search for the antidote.
But they soon found that it would not be easy to find.
The valley was filled with traps and obstacles, all designed to stop anyone who tried to enter it from getting what they wanted.
Fortunately, Lin Xuan had brought along a team of warriors from the Mosuo tribe to help him out, including Bei Cheng, who had proven himself to be a fierce and loyal ally.
Together, they fought their way through the traps and obstacles and made their way deeper into the valley in search of the antidote.
It wasn’t long before they realized that whoever was guarding the antidote was not going to make it easy for them to get it.
They were attacked by more fierce wild animals and enemy soldiers, all of whom seemed determined to stop them from reaching their goal.
Fortunately, they were able to hold their own and continue moving forward, until they reached the heart of the valley and finally found what they were looking for: a small pool of clear water that contained the antidote they needed to save Maya’s life.
Lin Xuan quickly filled several bottles with the water and prepared to leave, but before he could do so, he suddenly heard someone calling out to him from behind.
He turned around and saw a young woman standing at the mouth of a cave, her face hidden beneath a hooded cloak.
“Who are you?”
Lin Xuan asked.
“What do you want?”
The young woman did not answer his question but instead stepped forward and said, “You must leave this place at once.”
Lin Xuan frowned and said, “I’m sorry, but I can’t do that.
I need this antidote to save someone’s life, and I won’t leave without it.”
The young woman fell silent for a moment, then said, “If you refuse to leave, then I have no choice but to stop you by force.”
Lin Xuan tensed up and prepared for battle, but before he could do anything, he heard someone calling his name from behind and turned around to see Bei Cheng standing there with his sword drawn and ready for action.
“Don’t worry, I’ve got your back,” Bei Cheng said, then turned his attention back to the young woman and said, “Who are you and why are you trying to stop us?”
“I am the guardian of this valley,” the young woman said, “and I cannot allow anyone to desecrate this sacred place or steal what does not belong to them.”
Bei Cheng raised an eyebrow and said, “If you’re the guardian of this valley, then I’m afraid we’re going to have to fight our way past you in order to get what we came for.”
The young woman fell silent for a moment, then said, “So be it,” and pulled back her hood to reveal her face: a beautiful but stern-looking woman with long black hair and piercing green eyes.
Before Lin Xuan could ask any more questions, the woman suddenly lunged forward and attacked him with her sword, but he was able to dodge the blow in time and counter with one of his own, only to have it deflected by the woman’s blade with surprising ease.
As they continued to exchange blows, Lin Xuan realized that the woman was not only skilled in swordsmanship but also quite powerful in her own right, and that if he wasn’t careful, he might end up getting killed or seriously injured in the process of trying to defeat her.
Fortunately, he didn’t have to worry about that happening because before the woman could do anything more than exchange a few more blows with him, they suddenly heard someone shouting from behind them and turned around to see Bei Cheng charging toward them with his sword drawn and ready for action.
“Get out of the way!”
Bei Cheng shouted as he lunged forward and attacked the woman with all his might, only to have his sword deflected by her blade with surprising ease.
Lin Xuan frowned and said, “What are you doing?”
“Fighting alongside you,” Bei Cheng said as he lunged forward and attacked the woman with his sword again, only to have it deflected once more before he could do any real damage to her.
“Just be careful and don’t get yourself killed,” Lin Xuan said as he stepped aside and watched the two of them continue to exchange blows with one another while doing his best to stay out of the way of their swords while also not getting killed by the giant spider that suddenly appeared right in front of him and blocked his path to the exit of the cave.
The spider looked at him with its many eyes and opened its mouth to reveal several rows of sharp fangs as it let out an ear-piercing screech before lunging forward and attacking him with all its might.
Lin Xuan tensed up and prepared to attack the spider in order to defend himself, only to have it suddenly dodge his blow at the last second and counter with a deadly venomous bite, which he was able to avoid in time but still got hit by the spider’s stinger, and fell to the ground in pain as the poison began to take effect.
He tried to get back up again but was too weak to stand and barely managed to crawl away from the spider before it could do anything else to him, only to be stopped by Bei Cheng, who suddenly appeared and blocked his path.
“What are you doing?”
Lin Xuan asked as he struggled to get up and continue moving forward, only to have Bei Cheng grab him by the arm and pull him back before he could do anything else.
“Get back here!”
Maya shouted as she pushed Bei Cheng aside and stepped forward to confront the spider herself, “I’ll take care of this monster, you three just go ahead and find the antidote so we can all get out of here alive.”
“What about you?”
he asked as he tried to get up and follow her before she could do anything else, “Are you just going to let it kill you?”
“I’m not some helpless damsel in distress who needs your protection,” Maya said as she shoved him aside and attacked the spider herself, “I can take care of myself, so just go find the antidote so we can all get out of here alive.”
Lin Xuan watched helplessly as Maya and the spider continued to exchange blows with one another while Bei Cheng and the other warrior tried to find a way around them and continue their journey deeper into the cave.
He didn’t want to leave Maya behind, but he knew they didn’t have much time left before it was too late for her and they all died, so he did what she told him and followed Bei Cheng and the other warrior down a long passageway that led them into a dark and gloomy chamber, which had several torches mounted on the walls that lit up the room and revealed a large wooden door covered in moss, vines, and other plant life that looked like it hadn’t been opened in years.
“What are we waiting for?”
Bei Cheng asked as he stepped forward and examined the door, “Let’s just open it now and see what’s on the other side.”
“Not so fast,” Lin Xuan said as he put his hand on Bei Cheng’s shoulder to stop him from doing anything stupid, “We don’t know what’s on the other side of that door or what we’re going to find when we get there, so we need to be careful and not rush things if we want to survive.”
“What are you talking about?”
Bei Cheng asked as he pushed Lin Xuan out of the way and opened the door himself, only to have a bright flash of light appear out of nowhere and blind them before they could do anything else, “What just happened?”
“I think the door was booby-trapped,” Lin Xuan said as he helped Bei Cheng back up to his feet, “And I think I know what we need to do to get past it.”
“What do you mean?”
Bei Cheng asked as he stepped forward and examined the door, “How do you know there’s a way to get past it?”
“Because I saw it in a vision when I touched the scroll,” Lin Xuan said as he pressed his hand against the door, which suddenly glowed with a bright blue light before a second wooden door appeared right beside it that looked exactly like the first one, only this time there was a sword etched into the center of it that had a long handle with a sharp blade that looked like it could cut anything in half.
Lin Xuan reached out and grabbed the sword by its handle before he could stop himself, only to have several more swords appear out of nowhere that were exactly like it, which then began to move around on their own without anyone touching them while also not hitting anything until they formed a circle around the first one that looked like a giant whirlpool of energy that could destroy anything that got too close to it.
“What is this place?”
Maya asked as she stepped forward to examine the door, “And how do we get past it?”
The Mosuo Elders asked in unison as they appeared out of thin air, “Did you find what you were looking for?”
“We found a giant whirlpool of energy with several swords moving around on their own that looks like it could destroy anything that gets too close to it,” Lin Xuan said as he stepped forward to examine the door, “And we also found a second door that appeared right beside it that looks exactly like it, only this one has a sword etched into the center of it that has a long handle with a sharp blade that looks like it could cut anything in half.”
“Is there anything we can do to get past it?”
Maya asked as she stepped forward to join him, “We’re not sure how much longer we can stay here before something bad happens.”
“You must prove your worth if you want to get past this door,” The Mosuo Elders said as they waved their hands to make the swords stop moving around on their own, “And to do that, you must pass a series of trials that will test your wisdom, courage, strength, and many other things before you can claim your prize.”
“Where do we need to go next?”
Maya asked as she stepped forward to listen to what they had to say, “We’ll take you to the Gemu Peak, which is where the Sacred Pearl is located,” The Mosuo Elders said as they waved their hands to reveal a giant mountain that was right in front of them that was shrouded in mist, “But first, you must prove your worth by scaling this mountain before you can claim your prize.”
“But how do we do that?”
Lin Xuan asked as he stepped forward to examine the mountain, “And how are we supposed to get there?”
“You will be able to see it after you pass this door,” The Mosuo Elders said as they waved their hands to make the first door disappear before they made the second one appear right in its place, which then began to glow with a bright golden light that was so powerful that it hurt their eyes just to look at it.
Maya asked as she stepped forward to examine the door, which then opened on its own to reveal a giant whirlpool of energy that had several swords moving around on their own, which then began to move around on their own before she could stop herself while also not hitting anything until they formed a circle around her that was so powerful that she couldn’t get out of it even if she tried.
“What’s going on?”
Lin Xuan asked as he tried to help her, only to have her push him out of the way when he got too close while also not hurting him either.
“I think I know what we need to do next,” Maya said as she reached out and grabbed one of the swords by its handle, which then began to glow with a bright yellow light before she used it to cut her way out of the circle, “We need to climb this mountain if we want to get past this door, so we need to find some tools that will help us do that.”
“How do we do that?”
“Do not worry, I will take care of it,” The Mosuo Elders said as they waved their hands to make a group of warriors appear in front of them five minutes later who were carrying several tools in their hands, “These warriors will help you climb up the mountain, but you will have to make it to the top yourself if you want to get the Sacred Pearl, so be careful.”
“Thank you,” Lin Xuan said as he stepped forward to take his pickaxe from the warriors, “But how do we get up there?”
“Follow me,” The Mosuo Elders said as they waved their hands to make the mountain glow with a bright white light that was so powerful that it hurt their eyes just to look at it, “This is the Gemu Peak, where the Sacred Pearl is located, and it is the highest point on this mountain, but we will help you get up there if you want us to.”
“Yes, please,” Lin Xuan said as he looked at Maya, who then walked forward to take the lead while also not saying anything else until they made it to the base of the mountain ten minutes later, where they stopped and got ready for the next part of their journey.
“I’m scared of heights,” One of the warriors said as he started to panic, “I don’t know if I can do this.”
“Don’t be scared, we will be here to help you,” The Mosuo Elders replied as they waved their hands to make a bridge out of spider silk appear above an enormous ravine that was filled with water, but they also did not say anything else when they saw them look at them in shock and surprise.
“Is this the final trial?”
Lin Xuan asked as he looked at them, “If it is, we will do our best to pass it and get the Sacred Pearl for you.”
“Yes, it is,” The Mosuo Elders replied in unison before they took a few steps back and made the warriors walk forward to cross the bridge and get to the other side, but they also did not say anything else when they saw them all look at each other in confusion.
“Is this a bridge for ants?”
One of the warriors asked as he looked up in shock and surprise, “I don’t think we can do this.”“Yes, you can,” The Mosuo Elders replied in unison as they waved their hands to make a white light go around them, “This is a bridge for humans and one that will lead you to the other side of this ravine if your heart is pure and true, but we must warn you that it will fall into the water below if it detects an impure heart.”
“What happens if we fall into the water below?”
Lin Xuan asked as he looked at Maya, who then turned to look at him and did not say a word, “Do we die?”
“Yes, this water is very cold and can kill you if you fall into it,” The Mosuo Elders replied as they made a few rocks appear below them to show them how far down it was to reach the freezing cold water that was at the bottom of this ravine, “But this will not happen to anyone who has a pure enough heart.”
“Why do we need to cross this bridge?”
Lin Xuan asked as he looked at them and also did not say anything else when they turned to leave and go back to where they were sitting before.
“You will see why soon,” They replied as they left and also did not say anything else when they saw Maya step forward to take a few steps up onto this bridge and get ready to cross it to get to the other side.
“What are you doing?”
Lin Xuan asked as he looked at her and also took a few steps up onto this bridge to get ready to walk across it with her.
“I’m crossing this bridge so that my people can live without fear,” Maya replied as she took a few more steps up onto this bridge and got ready to walk across it faster too.

“Thank you,” Maya replied as she nodded at them and also started to walk across this bridge faster too.
Lin Xuan also walked across this bridge faster too when he saw Maya looking around to see if any of these boards were going to fall out from under them.
But he could see that they were going to be safe as long as they kept walking across this bridge without stopping.
Maya also did not stop walking across this bridge when she looked down to see how far down it was to reach the water below them when she heard some of these boards starting to crack.

Maya, Lin Xuan, and the warriors made it safely across the bridge, “We made it,” They all sighed in relief as they stepped onto solid ground again.
“Yes, you have made it,” The Mosuo Elders replied, “Now take a look at what you have come here to see.”
Maya, Lin Xuan, and the warriors all took a few steps forward after they heard what they told them to do.
And were all left breathless by what they saw next when they looked up ahead to see the majestic Gemu Peak standing right in front of their eyes.
“Wow,” Lin Xuan said as he looked up ahead to see how tall this peak was.
He knew that it was going to be hard for anyone to reach the top of it him now, even though he was here with the woman who was supposed to be the future queen of this kingdom.
Do you like it?”
The Mosuo Elders asked when they saw him looking up ahead at this peak and also knew that it was a beautiful sight for any of their people to see now, even though it was something that was never supposed to be found by anyone else in this world.
“Yes, I do,” Lin Xuan replied as he looked at them and also knew that this was something that was going to be very special for him because he never thought that he would ever see a sight like this in his life.
“This is Gemu Peak,” They replied as they made a few trees appear below it, “And these are the ancient trees where we find all of the leaves needed to make white sand murals.”
Maya, Lin Xuan, and the warriors all looked down below this peak when they heard what they told them about what was growing here and could not believe what they were seeing when they looked at these trees closer too.
“This is amazing,” Lin Xuan said as he looked up ahead at all of these trees too, “I can’t believe how many of them are growing down here too.”
“There are many more trees where these ones are too,” The Mosuo Elders replied as they made all of these trees disappear again, “And now we will take you up there so you can see where all of these trees grow for yourself.”
Maya, Lin Xuan, and the warriors all followed the Mosuo Elders after they said what they wanted them all to do and were soon standing right in front of Gemu Peak too.
They all looked up ahead at this peak again too and could not believe how tall it was when they saw it from this angle too.
Many of the warriors even wondered how hard it was going to be for Maya to reach the top of this peak now when she had never been here before too.
It might take her longer than she thought it would now too.
“How beautiful,” Maya said as she looked up at this peak and also knew that it was a very beautiful sight for her to see now too, “I can’t believe how big our ancient forest really is.”
“You have seen nothing yet,” The Mosuo Elders replied as they looked up at this peak and could not believe how much more of it they had to show her now too, “Now we will take you to the heart of our ancient forest too.”
Maya, Lin Xuan, and the warriors all followed the Mosuo Elders after they said what they wanted them all to do and were soon standing right in front of the heart of this ancient forest too.
They all looked up ahead at this forest again too and could not believe how many trees were standing there when they saw it from this angle.
It was so amazing to think about how many white sand murals could really be found there.
And how many more murals could still be made from all of these leaves too.
“How beautiful,” Maya said as she looked up at this forest and also knew that it was a very beautiful sight for her to see now too, “I can’t believe how big our ancient forest really is.”
“Yes, it is,” The Mosuo Elders replied as they made Gemu Peak appear behind all of these trees again, “And now we want you both to perform a ritual that will awaken the spirits guarding all of the future of our people.”
Maya and Lin Xuan looked at each other after they heard what they told them to do.
They knew that this was going to be something that was going to change their lives forever if they did not perform this ritual right now.
They also knew that there was nothing else that they could really do right now either because this was something that had to be done by them if they wanted to make sure their people were going to survive too.
Now go prepare everything,” The Mosuo Elders continued as Lin Xuan started walking closer towards Maya again too, “You have everything you need in your house.”
Lin Xuan looked back at the Mosuo Elders after he heard what they told him to do and also knew that this was something that they really had to do right now.

They were walking to a place where there was a sacred pool with a few trees in front of it too.
They were told that they all had to get into this pool if they wanted to awaken the spirits today too.
They had to get into his pool and stay there until they were visited by a vision or guardian spirit when they were inside of this pool.
They were told that these visions would help them find out more secrets about the past of their kingdom and what was going to happen in their future too.
They were told that these visions were also very important for the both of them to see what was going on too.
They were both told that they had to get into this pool together and wait for a vision to come to one of them very soon.
