Rio
innocent, and compassionate. Rio struggles with his identity as Dio's twin brother and grapples with Dio's evil influence. At a masquerade ball, he falls deeply in love with Ciel Phantomhive. Despite Dio's attempts to sabotage their relationship, Rio remains hopeful and devoted. He is drawn to Ciel's kindness and purity, finding solace in their brief moments together.
Ciel Phantomhive
shy, and captivating. Meeting Rio at the masquerade ball sparks an intense connection between them. Ciel’s kindness draws Rio out of his shell, providing him with a sense of belonging and happiness. Despite their brief encounter, they share a deep and profound bond that leaves a lasting impact on both.
Dio
cruel, and envious. Dio resents Rio for capturing George’s attention while he only receives protection as well as cold indifference from George despite being his twin brother. He attempts to sabotage Rio’s relationship with Ciel by spreading rumors and causing trouble but ultimately fails to disrupt their connection.
In the 1880s, a wealthy man named George Joestar adopted me and my twin brother Dio.
We were orphans with no one to care for us.
Dio is wicked and charismatic, while I am shy and kindhearted.
I don't know why I am so different from my twin brother.
Maybe because I don't want to be like him.
When Dio found out that our adoptive brother, Jonathan Joestar, was invited to the Phantomhive mansion for a masquerade ball, he insisted on going with him.
George didn't want Dio to go, but he couldn't stop him.
So he told Jonathan to keep an eye on Dio and not let him get into any trouble.
As for me, Dio dragged me along as well.
I was too shy and afraid to protest, so I just followed him silently.
When we arrived at the Phantomhive mansion, it was huge and beautiful.
The ball was being held in a large garden outside the house, where tables were set up with food and drinks.
People in elaborate costumes were dancing and talking.
Jonathan left us there and went off to find his friends.
I hover near the refreshment table, adjusting my plain black mask as I watch the other guests mingle.
The elaborate costumes and masks make me feel even more out of place in my simple attire.
A servant offers me a glass of champagne, but I politely decline.
Instead, I reach for a small pastry to occupy my trembling hands.
The music from the string quartet drifts across the garden as couples twirl on the makeshift dance floor.
I notice Dio watching me from across the garden, his golden mask glinting in the lamplight.
His eyes hold a promise of chaos that I know will soon unfold.
I weave through the crowd toward him, my heart pounding against my ribs.
The golden mask gleams as he turns to face me, his lips curling into that familiar cruel smile.
Around us, party guests continue their revelry, oblivious to the tension.
I stop a few feet from him, close enough to smell the champagne on his breath but far enough to dodge if needed.
"Please don't cause any problems tonight," I whisper, my voice barely audible over the orchestra.
Dio's hand shoots out, grabbing my wrist with bruising force.
I wrench my arm away from his grip, stumbling backward into a marble pillar.
The impact knocks my black mask askew.
Several nearby party guests turn to stare, their own ornate masks glinting in the candlelight.
Dio's golden eyes narrow behind his mask as he takes a menacing step toward me.
I quickly straighten my mask and slip between two dancing couples, using their spinning forms as cover.
My wrist throbs where Dio grabbed it, but I force myself to walk normally, not run, as I make my way toward the garden doors.
I need to find Jonathan before Dio's chaos consumes us all.
