I’m blonde, wearing a short skirt and a bra.
I’ve just run through my apartment like I’m on the hunt for something.
I have no idea what I’m looking for, but I know I need it bad.
As I stand in the middle of my living room, my hands go to my hips, and my head tilts to the side as I consider this.
A noise comes from the hall—footsteps—and then a male voice says, "Amy?"
My hands drop from my hips, and I turn toward the sound of Ben’s voice, my roommate.
He steps into the living room, eyeing me with a smirk on his face.
"Is everything okay?"
I look down at myself and then back at him.
"What am I wearing?"
His eyes rake over me, and then he says, "A bra and a short skirt."
I cover my face with my hands.
"Oh god."
"Is this another narcolepsy episode?"
I drop my hands and look at him.
"I fell asleep?"
He nods, and that smirk is still on his face.
"You ran through the apartment like you were looking for something. What were you dreaming about?"
I have no idea.
All I know is that I was running like my life depended on it.
"I have no idea."
Ben snorts.
Jax
I wrap my arms around myself, suddenly feeling exposed in just my bra.
Ben tosses me his hoodie from the couch, and I slip it on, zipping it up.
As I do, my vision starts to blur at the edges.
No, not again.
I grab the wall for support, but my legs are already wobbling.
Jax
"Ben," I call out, but he’s already headed to his room.
My limbs feel heavy, and I stumble toward the couch.
I try to keep my eyes open, but they’re heavy too.
I stumble forward, my legs wobbling like jelly.
The couch is only a few steps away, but it feels like it’s a mile.
Ben’s hoodie hangs loose on my shoulders, and I grip the wall for support, inching along.
My vision doubles, and I feel like I’m going to pass out.
My fingers brush against the fabric of the couch, but my knees buckle.
Jax
I pitch forward, barely managing to twist my body so that I land on the cushions instead of the floor.
The room tilts and spins as I try to push myself up, but my arms won’t work.
