Isabella, a young woman who recently quit her finance job, decides to move to Willowbrook after reuniting with her childhood best friend Lily, but little does she know that Lily's roommate, Liam, who shares a spark with Isabella, is actually a part of Lily's past life.
But the truth was, I’d never met Liam before.
I had only been friends with Lily for a few months, and we didn’t know each other in high school when she’d been dating him.
I didn’t want to tell her that, though, so I just smiled and sat down on the couch next to him.
"Hi," I said, trying to sound casual even though my cheeks were burning.
"Hi," he said, his voice deep and smooth.
I never thought I’d be the type of girl to move across the country for a guy.
But then again, I never thought I’d fall in love with my best friend’s roommate, either.
The first time I met Liam Carter, he was sitting on the couch at Lily Jensen’s house, his long legs stretched out in front of him as he watched TV.
He looked up when I walked in, and I remember thinking that he was the most handsome man I’d ever seen.
He had dark hair and eyes that were so blue they almost seemed to glow.
He was tall and broad-shouldered, with a strong jawline and full lips that made me want to kiss him.
I couldn’t stop staring at him, and when he smiled at me, my heart skipped a beat.
"Isabella," Lily said, coming into the living room behind me.
"You remember Liam, right?"
I nodded, trying to play it cool even though my heart was racing in my chest.
"Of course."
