I was nervous.
I'd never had surgery before, and the thought of someone cutting into my body made me a little sick.
Not to mention the fact that I was getting an experimental procedure to make me invisible.
I wasn't sure what the end result would be, but I was hoping it would help me get through the rest of high school without any more problems.
"Are you going to tell your parents?"
Sarah asked as we walked to the cosmetic surgery clinic.
The building looked like any other office building, except for the fact that it was in the middle of nowhere.
It was in an industrial park, surrounded by other buildings that looked abandoned.
The clinic was the only one in use, and it looked like it had been there for years.
"Probably not. My mom would freak out."
Sarah nodded in understanding.
"And you're sure this is going to work?"
"I'm not sure. Mark doesn't think so."
Mark was a tech whiz and had been doing some research on his own about how to get superpowers through surgery.
He didn't think it would work, but I was hoping he was wrong.
"Well if it does work, then what? Are you going to become a superhero or something?"
