running ads for business local owners
After a long day at work, I was at my favorite coffee shop, sipping on a latte.
It was my go-to place to work when I needed to focus and get some things done.
I was busy analyzing the data from an ad campaign I had recently launched for a new client.
The ad had been performing okay so far, but I was convinced I could make it better.
I just needed to figure out exactly how.
I had everything in front of me—my laptop, my notebook, and my favorite pen.
I was in the zone, and it felt great.
Feeling at home, I couldn’t help but appreciate the warm atmosphere the coffee shop always had.
The walls were painted in a light gray, and there were little spots of color here and there, in the form of art pieces that were hung on the walls.
The fairy lights that adorned the place gave it a warm feeling, and the smell of fresh coffee always filled the air.
A barista approached me with a smile as she set my order on my table.
“Latte for Emma.”
“Thank you,” I said with a nod, barely looking up from my laptop screen.
She smiled before she walked away, moving on to the next table with an order.
I took a sip from my latte and sighed in satisfaction.
As soon as I put my cup down, I dove back into my work.
After going through the numbers for a few more minutes, I minimized the spreadsheet, deciding that it wasn’t going to be very helpful in getting me closer to where I wanted to be with this campaign.
I closed my eyes for a moment before reopening them and staring at my screen again.
I needed to think of new ways to optimize this ad campaign.
There was no way I was going to give up until I got this right.
Just as I was about to dismiss a notification from someone named Sarah Johnson on my phone, I remembered who she was and decided to read her message first.
Sarah was the graphic designer who made all of my ideas come alive.
I smiled as I read her message.
It looked like we were about to get a new project that would be right up our alley.
This would be a great opportunity to try some new things and see how we could help this client out.
I couldn’t wait.
Another business owner in need of our services?
My mind started racing with ideas before I realized what I was doing.
I had to stop myself before I got too ahead of myself.
I took a sip from my latte and set it back down before typing a response to Sarah.

Yes, please send over the details.
I’ll forward you the email now.
Looks like he’s willing to meet up tomorrow.”
Great,” I typed back.
Would he offer the additional information I needed so quickly?
“That would be perfect.”
“I have to go now.
Can’t wait to hear what you think.”
No problem,” I replied, quickly typing out one final message.
“Enjoy your doctor’s appointment!
Take care, and talk soon.”
As soon as I sent the message, I opened up my email and started searching for the forwarded email from Sarah.
I didn’t have to scroll too far before I saw it.
A smile formed on my face as I opened the email and started reading through the details that Sarah had sent over.
The guy’s name was Jack Wilson.
He just started his own business and was looking for someone who could help him market his services and products to local customers in town.
He was looking for someone who could increase his customer base by using local online advertising.
By the sounds of it, it looked like he knew exactly what he wanted and needed, which would make things so much easier for me.
And she was right; he wanted to meet as soon as possible.
The sooner we meet, the sooner we can get this show on the road and help him grow his business.
He was available tomorrow morning and suggested we meet up at the coffee shop downtown, which was only a ten-minute drive from where I was currently sitting.
I checked the time and saw that it was almost 6 p.m., and the sun was already setting behind the horizon.
We could have met today if only she hadn’t called me so late.
I took a sip from my latte and glanced around the coffee shop, which wasn’t too busy at the moment.
People were either sitting in a corner and working on their laptops or chatting with friends over cups of coffee.
A barista was wiping down a table nearby and seemed to be getting ready to close up shop for the evening.
After saying a quick prayer that they would still have coffee for me in the morning, I got up and walked to the counter for a refill on my latte.
As soon as she handed me a fresh cup of coffee, I grabbed my laptop and headed outside.
It might get dark in an hour or so, but I wanted to get some work done while it was still bright outside.

A few hours passed, and I didn’t even notice that the barista was trying to close the door without making any noise.
I’d been so deep into my work that I hadn’t even taken a break to eat.
But I did notice when he brought me another refill of my latte.
I gave him an apologetic look and thanked him, then got back to work.
When I finally decided to check the time, it was past 10 p.
I had a couple of missed messages from Sarah and quickly checked them out, thinking that she might have sent me some more information about Jack.
I was right; she had.
Innovative Allure: A Marketing Success Story
The first message was just an introduction from her side, telling me that Jack Wilson was a client of hers and that he owned an outdoor gear store downtown.
She had actually helped him out with some logos and a website design.
The second message included a picture of Jack and some more information about his business.
I couldn’t help but smile to myself when I saw how thorough she’d been.
The more I knew about a person and their business before we met, the easier it would be to come up with ideas on how to help them.
I quickly typed a message to her, telling her that I’d received everything she’d sent me and thanked her for being so quick.
I also told her that I was already at the coffee shop and ready for our meeting tomorrow, so I wouldn’t be late.
After sending the message, I put my phone down and got back to work for a little bit longer before heading home for the night.
I arrived at the coffee shop the next morning, a little earlier than we’d planned to meet, just to make sure I got a table.
I already knew what I wanted to order and didn’t want to waste any time.
I’d hardly sat down and opened my laptop when the door flew open and a man walked in.
He was tall with brown hair and looked around a few times before his gaze landed on me.
He gave me a hopeful smile, and I could tell from the look on his face that he was nervous about meeting me.
My heart went out to him.
It wasn’t easy when you were starting out and needed help but didn’t have the money to hire someone who could.
I’d been there once myself when I’d launched my own business.
“It has to be you,” he said as he walked toward me.
“I’m sorry if I’m early; I was just so excited to meet you.”
I shook my head and smiled at him.
“You’re not early; I’m actually early.”
“Then it’s a good thing I decided to come here first,” he said with a wink.
“I’m Jack Wilson.” He held out his hand for me to shake.
“Emma Thompson,” I replied and shook his hand.
“It’s nice to meet you.”
“It’s nice to meet you too,” he said.
“I can’t tell you how much I appreciate you meeting with me today.
Sarah has told me so much about the work you’ve done for her and for other clients.
You’re amazing at what you do.”
The way he said it made my heart swell with pride.
That had been my dream all along; to start my own business that could help others.
He was also right about Sarah; she’d been my first client when I started my business, and she was still one of my favorite clients to this day.
But while we were best friends, we also kept things professional between us and never mixed business with pleasure.
