I’m seventeen, and I know every nook and cranny of this city.

I’ve been here for as long as I can remember, and I love it.

There’s nothing like it.

The energy is humid and palpable, and I thrive on it.

My dad’s an NHL legend, and even though he retired a few years ago, people still treat me like royalty because of it.

They know who I am.

They know my last name.

They know that I’m the son of the great Marcus Stark.

But Boston isn’t just about my dad; it’s about hockey.

This is the city that bred me, shaped me, and molded me into the athlete I am today.

I live and breathe hockey twenty-four seven, three-hundred and sixty-five days a year.

I’m going into my junior year at Newton South High School, and even though I could’ve chosen to go to a prep school or a private academy that focuses solely on hockey, I didn’t.

I like the balance that NHS gives me.

I like being a big fish in a small pond.
