In an English class, Devin asks Ella for her eraser. When he catches sight of her blonde hair and smoky blue eyes, he feels a sudden spark. He begins to fall for her and takes steps to become her friend.
Devin Harrison
He is a student in an English class. He is shy, introspective, and romantic. Devin feels awkward and unable to express himself around girls, especially after an embarrassing incident in elementary school. However, when he meets Ella in his English class,he feels a strong attraction towards her. He struggles to maintain composure around her but tries to befriend her, hoping to mask his true feelings.
Ella
She is a fellow student in the English class. She is mysterious, beautiful, and elusive. Ella has a striking appearance with blonde hair and smoky blue eyes that captivate Devin. She seems distant and doesn't interact much with others, which only adds to her allure for Devin. Despite her reserved nature,Devin hopes to get closer to her and potentially turn her friendship into something more.
"Devin, can I borrow your eraser?"
I turn my head to the right, to the girl beside me, and I am immediately caught up in her amazing blonde hair and smoky blue eyes.
My heart skips a beat as I stare at her for a moment before I realize sheās waiting for me to respond.
Oh, she asked me a question.
Right.
"Uhā¦yeah."
I fumble with my pencil and eraser, trying to play it cool.
But itās too late.
Sheās already seen the flush rise to my cheeks.
This is so typical of me.
Anytime Iām around a girl, I turn into a total idiot.
Itās no wonder I have zero friends who are female.
I canāt even talk to them without wanting to run and hide.
I remember that time in elementary school when I peed in class because I was too afraid to raise my hand and ask to use the restroom.
The whole class erupted into laughter, and the girl I had a major crush on at the time ran out of the room, giggling.
I never did recover from that.
I mean, who does?
But as I look into Ellaās eyes now, I want to kick myself for being so stupid.
She doesnāt seem to be laughing at me this time.
In fact, she looks kind ofā¦soft.
