A flood of emotions shot through my body as I touched the Alien.
I felt hot tears pricking at the corners of my eyes, and I let them fall silently onto the forest floor.
I had never felt so much emotion in my life, and I didn’t know what to do with it.
I didn’t understand why I was feeling so much, or why this moment was so important to me.
All I knew was that it was important, and that I would never forget this moment as long as I lived.
Eva touched my shoulder, and I turned to look at her.
She was watching the Alien, her eyes wide with wonder.
"What is it?"
Eva whispered to me.
I shook my head.
"I don’t know," I said.
"But I think it’s good. The Alien seems happy."
Eva nodded, her eyes still on the Alien.
"I think you’re right. It’s just… I’ve never seen anything like this before."
"Me neither," I said.
"I have no idea what it means, or what the Alien is doing here."
Eva turned to me, her eyes serious.
"Do you think it’s dangerous?"
I shook my head.
"No," I said.
"I don’t think so. The Alien seems gentle."
Eva nodded, looking back at the Alien.
"I think you’re right. But what do we do now?"
I shrugged.
"I don’t know. Do we just stand here?"
Eva nodded.
