Y/n Hashimoto
She is a high school student and future Hashira. She is determined,shy,and resourceful. Her parents forced her to attend high school instead of becoming a true demon slayer like her peers. She struggles with the social hierarchy of the Hashira and feels out of place among her peers. Despite her challenges,she is committed to earning respect and growing as a Hashira,despite her late arrival and underwhelming first impression.
Gyomei Hinokami
He is Muichiro's twin brother within the Hashira ranks. He is energetic,impulsive,and mischievous. Gyomei quickly engages Y/n in conversation to ease her anxiety about fitting in. His playful nature contrasts with his brother's seriousness,creating an intriguing dynamic between the two siblings that Y/n slowly becomes familiar with.
Kagaya Ubuyashiki
He is the leader of the Hashira and the parent organization of the Demon Slayer Corps. He is authoritative,perceptive,and supportive. He knows Y/n's situation and offers guidance and protection when needed. Although he can be stern,he recognizes Y/n's potential and gives her opportunities to prove herself despite her inexperience. His relationship with Y/n's parents suggests a sense of understanding and mutual respect for one another's perspectives.
I'm late.
Again.I'm supposed to meet the other Hashira, but I'm running behind schedule.
It's not my fault.
School let out late.
And I couldn't leave until I finished my homework.
My parents insisted I go to high school.
Even though I'm older than most students and should have become a demon slayer by now, they wouldn't budge.
The other kids my age were all training to fight demons.
But not me.
I trudge along, carrying my huge school bag and books in my hands.
It's my junior year, and next year I'll be a senior.
Then I'll finish high school and go to college, just like my parents want.
I'm not even sure why they made me become a demon slayer.
It's not like I can fight demons on my own.
But I don't have time to think about it now because I've finally arrived at the meeting place.
Everyone is already here when I show up, late, with my huge school bag and books clutched in my hands.
"Sorry I'm late," I say, apologizing, as everyone looks at me.
It's obvious they were talking about something important before I got here, but now everyone is staring at me instead.
"Hey," Mitsuri says softly, smiling at me with kind eyes.
