I stared at the newspaper ad, my eyes wide with wonder.
It was real.
I had been searching online for months, and finally, I found it.
A cosmetic surgery clinic that offered a procedure to give people superpowers.
The clinic was called "The Enhancement Institute," and it was located in a nearby city.
They offered all sorts of procedures: strength enhancement, speed, agility, and even flight.
But one procedure caught my eye: invisibility.
I couldn’t believe it.
I had always been fascinated by science, especially the possibility of superpowers.
And now, it was real.
I felt like I could do anything.
I decided then and there that I would get the invisibility procedure.
I was only a high school student, but I was old enough to make my own decisions about my body.
Besides, it was my money.
I had saved up from working part-time jobs since I was thirteen.
I didn’t need anyone’s permission to do what I wanted with my money.
The next day, I went to see my guidance counselor, Ellen.
I had told her about my plans before, but she didn’t believe me.
She thought I was just joking around.
But now that I had found the clinic and seen the ad in the newspaper, I knew it was real.
"Hello, Dave. What brings you here today?"
