"Alex, are you ready yet? I'm starving!"
Tyler, my twin brother, yelled from downstairs.
I had just finished packing the last of our supplies and threw my backpack over my shoulder.
"Yes, I'm done. Let's go."
I walked down the stairs and turned into the kitchen where Tyler was already sitting at the table with his backpack beside him.
Our meal consisted of two sandwiches, an apple each, and a bottle of water to share.
Not exactly a feast, but better than nothing.
We had eaten most of our supplies already and what was left was too little to make a real meal out of.
"How did you sleep?" I asked him.
"I slept fine, thanks. How about you?"
I shrugged.
"Not so fine. I keep on having the same dream over and over again. The same frustrating feeling of being stuck in that endless corridor."
"Maybe it's just because you're stressed about what happened yesterday," he said.
"Maybe… but what is with that strange glow? Have you ever seen anything like that before?"
He shook his head.
"No, never. But I think it’s just our brains reacting to the strangeness of our new world."
"Hopefully…"
I trailed off, not quite convinced by his explanation.
"Come on," he said, standing up and putting his backpack on.
"We should get going."
I nodded and followed him out the door.
