I am a young student.
I was wrongly accused of murder, and I paid my debt to society behind bars for five long years.
I have one special ability—I can take over bodies of other people.
And I did just that when I escaped from jail.
I took over the body of my lawyer, Jessica, who is thirty-two years old.
Now I live her life, wear her clothes (including black s####s), do her makeup, go on dates with men she knows.
It feels amazing to be free again!
But it also strange and wrong at the same time.
I am not her.
I am an imposter.
And I know that sooner or later I will get caught.
Detectives are looking for me.

I attend a party.
It’s a big one, with lots of people.
Everyone is dressed up and wearing masks.
I wear a sleek black dress and Jessica’s signature black stockings.
My hair is styled perfectly, and I have on some light makeup.
I fit right in with the other guests.
I mingle around, talking to people.
They all seem to know each other, and they are all very friendly.
I laugh at their jokes and smile at their stories.
We drink champagne and dance together.
It feels good to be out and socializing again.
After a while, I notice a man staring at me from across the room.
He looks familiar, but I can’t quite place him.
He comes over and introduces himself as one of Jessica’s old flames.

I can smell alcohol on his breath as he leans in to kiss me. I pull away from him quickly, feeling surprised by his sudden move.
He looks at me curiously, wondering why I didn’t respond to his advances.
I smile sweetly at him and say that I need to use the restroom.
He nods understandingly and lets go of my hand so I can leave.
As soon as I am out of sight, I take off running down the hallway towards the front door of the mansion.
I hear footsteps behind me, but I don’t look back until I reach the safety of my car parked outside. Once inside, I lock all the doors and start driving away from there as fast as possible.
The last thing I need right now is another man trying to take advantage of me!
As I speed away, I catch a glimpse of the detective's car in my rearview mirror, tailing me relentlessly.
