I asked her for her eraser, and when she turned around and saw me, I got a glimpse of her blonde hair, which fell in the back, and a smoky blue eye, and I was done.
I wanted her name, I wanted her number, I wanted to know her.
She handed me the eraser without a word, and then turned back to what she was doing.
I didn’t have the courage to ask her for her name, but I did have the courage to take out my phone and text Ben.
"Omg I’m in love."
He texted back almost immediately.
"With who?"
I wasn’t able to answer that, because I had no idea.
So instead, I sent him a picture of the back of her head.
"You came to class for once," he texted me.
"I come to class every time."
I defended myself.
"But you came to English today," he said.
And I knew he was right, because it was the only class where I actually sat near a girl I wanted to get to know.
He knew before I did that I was smitten with this girl.
I guess it was pretty obvious, because he texted me next, "You asked her for her stuff?"
And I was done, so I wrote yes, and he wrote back almost immediately with, "That’s new."
