I sat on the couch next to my wife as she stared at me.
I could see the anger in her eyes, but she was maintaining her composure.
"You ignored me all day and that's fine, but you almost hit me and that's not fine."
Aram told me, her voice even.

I said back to her, meaning it.
I knew Aram didn't like to be ignored, and I knew she didn't like to be touched roughly.
I had seen people in her presence touch her arm or shoulder and get their heads ripped off literally.
She hated physical contact and she hated when people ignored her.
I knew all of this and I had still ignored her all day and almost hit her.
I was an idiot sometimes.
"Get on your knees."
Aram told me, her voice still even.
I got off the couch and onto my knees, waiting for what I knew was going to come.
Aram stood up and grabbed a syringe from behind the couch.
She walked over next to me and pulled my sleeve up, exposing my skin.
"I'm sorry."
I told her again, knowing it wouldn't change anything but hoping it might help a little bit.
Aram injected whatever chemical was in the syringe into my arm before pulling back and sitting down next to me.
