I was driving home from my parents' house, tears streaming down my face.
I had just found out the most shocking news ever.
The man I called dad for twenty two years of my life wasn't my real father.
I was so distracted by my tears that I didn't notice the red light ahead of me until it was too late.
I ran into the car in front of me and got into an accident.
The next thing I knew, I was in the hospital.
My head was hurting like hell and I couldn't see anything.
I could hear the nurses and what they were saying but I still couldn't see anything.
"Are you feeling better now, Emily?"
"Yes, thank you."
I said to the nurse, finally able to see where I was and what was going on around me.
The nurse smiled at me and handed me a tablet with some medication in it.
I took it from her and wondered what she looked like, couldn't see her face because my vision was blurry.
A few minutes later, my vision cleared up and I could see the nurse clearly.
She was a tall woman with straight brown hair and blue eyes, a smile on her face.
"Thank you so much."
I told her and she nodded before leaving the room.
