I was having a bad day.
First, I got to work late because the train had been delayed.
Then, when I finally arrived at the office, I found out that there was a problem with the coffee machine.
And now I was going to be late for my lunch break because Dr. Scott had called me to his office.
I made my way through the corridors of the Freddy Fazbear's Pizza restaurant, passing by the ball pit and the haunted house, until I reached the door with a plaque that said "Dr. Scott, Manager".
I entered the office and found Dr. Scott, a fat man with a beard.
"Ah, Ethan, come in. Close the door, please."
I did as he asked.
"Have you noticed anything strange today?"
I thought about it for a moment.
"No, nothing."
"Hmm. Well, there seems to have been a power outage in the security room. Nothing strange with that, it happens often enough. But when I went to check the tapes, they were all blank. And then I called to ask if anyone had noticed anything strange, and one of the guards told me that he had seen Freddy Fazbear get up from his table and walk towards the security room."
That did sound strange.
"I don't know what to make of it," Dr. Scott said.
"But I'd feel better if we could review the tapes. Would you be so kind as to go with me and look at them?"
I was starting to feel uneasy.
Something didn't feel right.
But I had no reason to refuse, so I agreed.
Dr. Scott got up from his chair and led the way to the security room, which was located in a corridor behind the restaurant's kitchen.
The corridor was dimly lit, with pipes running along the walls and the ceiling.
When we entered the security room, I saw that all the monitors were dark, except for one that was showing a static image of a corridor.
There were two chairs in front of the console table, and Dr. Scott sat in one of them.
He looked at me expectantly, but I didn't sit.
Instead, I called Mia.
She answered on the first ring, and I told her where I was and what was going on.
"Wait," she said.
"I'll join you remotely."
A few seconds later, her face appeared on one of the monitors, looking back at us from above her keyboard as her fingers flew over it.
"I'm in," she said after a few moments.
"Enhancing the footage now," she said, and the static on the screen began to flicker.
After a few moments, the image sharpened, revealing a corridor.
It was empty, but then a figure moved into view.
Ethan leaned forward, his eyes fixed on the screen.
"That's Freddy," he muttered.
Dr. Scott tensed beside him, his fingers tapping nervously on the desk.
"We need to warn Lucas," Ethan decided, grabbing his phone.
Mia nodded, her expression serious.
"I'll keep digging for more footage."
Just as Ethan dialed Lucas' number, a loud crash echoed from the hallway outside.
Ethan felt a chill run down his spine as he looked at Dr. Scott and Mia on the screen.
"What was that?"
Dr. Scott asked nervously.
"I don't know," Ethan replied, getting up and going to the door.
He opened it slowly and looked out into the corridor, but it was dark and deserted.
Suddenly, Lucas' voice came from the phone in Ethan's hand.
"Hello?"
"Lucas, where are you?" Ethan asked.
"I'm in my office. What's going on?"
"We've been looking at the security footage," Ethan explained.
"And we saw Freddy moving around."
