Amber Thompson

female. She is a homeless teenager struggling to survive on the streets. She is resilient,determined,and resourceful. Amber lost her home after her mother's death and her father's abandonment. She turns to begging to survive,often facing rejection and humiliation. Despite her hardships,she dreams of a better life and hopes to find stability soon.

Jason Reed

male. He is a wealthy businessman who encounters Amber while she is begging. He is compassionate,generous,and enigmatic. Jason offers Amber a job as his personal assistant,providing her with a chance at stability and a place to live. His motives are unclear,but he seems genuinely interested in helping Amber improve her life.

Mark Thompson

male. He is Amber's estranged father who abandoned his family after his wife's death. He is irresponsible,selfish,and uncaring. Mark left Amber without support or resources,forcing her onto the streets. His actions led to Amber's homelessness and desperation for survival.

"Excuse me, do you have any spare change?"

I asked the tall man in a suit walking down the busy street.

He looked at me briefly before ignoring me and walking away.

It was the same response I had gotten all morning.

I had been begging on the street for weeks now, trying to get enough money to pay for a roof over my head at night.

It was a hard thing to get used to, but I had no other choice.

I was eighteen, alone, and homeless.

I lost my home when my mother died and my father abandoned us.

I had been hoping that once I turned eighteen and was no longer a minor, I could find a way to get off the streets and start rebuilding my life.

However, until that happened, I needed to keep begging in order to pay for the cheap hotel room I stayed in at night.
