I am Rusty, a large coonhound with white fur and brown markings.
I was sleeping in my dog bed in the corner of a quaint cottage when I was awoken by the sound of approaching horses.
I immediately stood up, ears perked up, ready to guard the house.
The window showed me two strangers were arriving.
One of them seemed to be a young woman, and the other one a young man.
They looked brave and adventurous, but I didn't know them, so I remained cautious.
Once they tied their horses to the fence, they walked toward the cottage.
The girl had a backpack full of something, and the guy carried a sword.
They looked like they had been traveling for a while.
When they reached the door, the girl knocked, and I barked loudly to let them know they had been seen.
I could see them talking in the window, but I couldn't make out what they were saying.
After a few moments, the girl knocked again and said, "Hello? Is anybody there? We come in peace."
My owner wasn't home, so I decided to bark again to let them know they couldn't come in.
However, after considering this for a moment, I decided to let them in.
Something about them seemed trustworthy.
I walked over to the door and turned the handle down with my mouth.
