The house was quiet, and I was stretched out on the couch, mindlessly watching TV.
My sister, Jess, was away with our parents, leaving me to enjoy some rare alone time.
As I flipped through channels, I heard the front door open.
Jaclynn, my sister’s friend, stepped in, wearing a white t-shirt and short shorts.
She moved in front of the TV, completely blocking my view.
"Really? You didn’t care enough to invite me over while your family’s away?"
She pouted, placing a hand on her hip.
"Watching TV alone when you could have a beautiful girl like me for company…"
I rolled my eyes and sighed.
"Jaclynn, you’ve never come over before. Why would I think you’d want to now?"
She walked over and plopped down next to me on the couch, her leg brushing against mine.
She grabbed the remote and started flipping through channels.
"Hey, what are you doing? I was watching that."
I reached for the remote, but she held it out of my reach.
"Sorry, but I’m bored with that show. Besides, you’re not missing anything. It’s all just a bunch of fake drama."
She flipped to a different channel, then another, then another.
"Jaclynn, stop. You’re gonna break the remote."
She laughed and continued flipping.
"I’m just trying to find something interesting. You know how boring TV is."
I tried to grab the remote again, but she held it away.

"Seriously, Jaclynn. Give me back the remote."
She finally stopped flipping and handed it back to me.
"Fine. But you owe me one."
I took the remote and turned it back to my show.
"You’ve never even been over before. How could I have invited you?"
She shrugged.
"I was busy."
I rolled my eyes and focused on the TV.
The doorbell rang, and Jaclynn jumped up to answer it.
I heard her talking to someone, then she came back into the room carrying a pizza box.
"Hey, I ordered us some pizza." "You didn’t even ask me if I wanted any," I said gruffly.
She plopped back down next to me on the couch and opened the pizza box.
"Well, excuse me for trying to be nice."
She grabbed a slice of pizza and took a bite.
"Mmm… this is so good."
I looked at her sideways and shook my head.
"Seriously? You order a pizza without asking me if I want any, then you eat it in front of me?"
She looked at me innocently.
What? You don’t like pizza?
I sighed and shook my head.
"That’s not the point."
She leaned over close to me, her breath warm against my ear.
The point is that I’m here with you now. Isn’t that enough?
I shifted uncomfortably in my seat and tried to focus on the TV again.
Jaclynn sat back up straight and looked at me with a mischievous grin on her face.
"You know, Alex…"
She paused for dramatic effect.
"You’re way too serious sometimes."
I turned off the TV and reached for a slice of pizza.
My Sister’s Flirtatious Friend
Jaclynn settled in beside me, her leg touching mine.
The pizza box sat between us, but I wasn’t really paying attention to it.
I was too distracted by Jaclynn’s closeness.
She kept glancing at me between bites of her pizza, a small smile playing on her lips.
I tried to focus on the TV again, but she inched closer, her shoulder now touching mine.
I could smell the flowery scent of her perfume filling my nostrils.
I shifted over a little, trying to create some space between us.
But Jaclynn followed my movement, closing the gap again.
My Sister’s Flirtatious Friend
I was getting tired of her flirting.
It was time to play along and see how she reacted.
I reached for another slice of pizza, watching as she lifted it to her mouth.
Just before she took a bite, I leaned forward and grabbed the slice from her hands.
She looked at me in shock as I shoved the whole slice into my mouth.
"Mmm…"
I said, grease dripping down my chin.
I kept eye contact with her, a smug grin spreading across my face.
Jaclynn wiped her hands on a napkin, her eyes narrowing playfully.
"Alright, Alex, I see how it is. But don't think I didn't notice you blushing earlier."
I swallowed the pizza and raised an eyebrow, trying to play it cool.
