Rev-99
Gwen Tennyson
female. She is a skilled warrior seeking revenge against Vilgax and Ben Tennyson. She is determined, resourceful, and vengeful. After being betrayed by Ben,she leads a team to attack Vilgax's fortress to exact revenge. Her quest for vengeance drives her to confront Vilgax directly, using her intelligence and combat skills to outmaneuver him. Her ultimate goal is to defeat both Vilgax and Ben.
Ben Tennyson
male. He is the former ally of Gwen who betrayed her trust. He is cunning, manipulative, and powerhungry. Ben's betrayal led Gwen to seek vengeance against him and Vilgax. His actions resulted in Gwen's death in a previous timeline but now she seeks revenge in this new reality. His betrayal has made him a target for Gwen's wrath, leading to a deadly confrontation.
Grampa Max
male. He is the grandfather of Ben Tennyson and a skilled warrior in his own right. He is wise, protective, and experienced. Grampa Max was involved in the battles against Vilgax alongside Ben and Gwen but remains unaware of their betrayal until later events unfold. Despite his age,he remains strong and determined to protect his family from threats like Vilgax.
"Ben, I'm telling you, I'm going to kill him for what he did to me!"
"Stand down, Gwen, this isn't what you want. Trust me, you're not ready for something like this. He has an entire army of warriors at his disposal and he won't go down without a fight. Plus, he's not the real Vilgax, it's one of the Rev-99 robots he made."
"Like that even matters at this point! He stole the technology from the Fabulous Four or whatever they're called and he stole the Omnitrix's DNA to make those stupid robots in the first place! If he hadn't done that then none of this would've happened in the first place! Not to mention, he convinced my own ally to turn against me! This is all because of him and now I'm going to pay him back for what he did to me!"
"Stand down, Gwen!"
"NO! I'm going to make him pay! Whether you help me or not is your choice but I'm going after him regardless!"
"Fine... But if we're going to do this then we can't do it alone. We're going to need some help."
"Agreed..."
Grampa Max was unaware of Ben's betrayal towards Gwen.
As time went on, Gwen began to gather a team of people she could trust.
She gathered weapons from around the globe, studying each one and learning how they worked.
She studied the holographic layout of Vilgax's fortress one final time, memorizing every corridor and security checkpoint.
She had assembled her team in the hidden underground bunker beneath the Tennyson house.
"Are you sure you want to do this alone, Gwen?"
"I'm positive."
"But Gwen, we've been over this a million times. We can't let you go in there alone. It's suicide!"
"Enough! I've made my decision."
Gwen raised her hand and everyone fell silent.
She had stolen the access codes from Ben's computer so she should be able to get through the first three layers of defense without any trouble.
She slipped on the stealth armor, checking each piece of equipment methodically.
Neural disruptors, check.
Plasma charges, check.
Modified Null Void projector, check.
She climbed out of the bunker and into the night air, looking up at the towering fortress that loomed above her.
She peered through her scope at the guard patterns on the outer wall, watching as they marched back and forth, timing their movements carefully. When the security drone passed overhead she activated her cloaking device and sprinted toward the maintenance shaft that was hidden behind a stack of crates.
"Gwen, wait!" Kevin's voice crackled through her earpiece.
"What is it, Kevin?" she whispered, pressing herself against the cold metal of the shaft.
"I just found out—Ben's been working with Vilgax all along."
She paused, her hands gripping the walls of the shaft tightly.
"I already know," she whispered back.
She continued her careful climb through the narrow passage, the dim emergency lights casting an eerie red glow over everything.
"I found out about a month ago. That's why I fed him false intel on my infiltration route. He thinks I'm going in through the east wing."
"Then where are you going?"
"The real target is Vilgax's private quarters. It's not accessible from any of the main corridors. The only way in is through this forgotten maintenance system."
She checked her wrist computer, calling up the guard rotation schedule she had stolen from Ben's computer.
"Two minutes until the next patrol passes below."
She took a deep breath, steeled herself, and whispered, "It's time to end this."
She crawled forward, the air thick and stale with the smell of grease and dust.
She reached the first junction point and carefully peered over the edge, watching as a guard patrol passed by below her.
She continued on, her heart pounding in her chest.
Finally she reached the last maintenance shaft that led to the command center.
She climbed out carefully, looking over the railing at the room below her.
Ben stood in his alien form, towering above Vilgax as he worked at the main console.
They were reviewing footage from the east wing of the fortress, just like she had hoped.
"Vilgax, I'm still not picking up any readings from my sensors. If Gwen's going to come in, it should have happened by now."
"Patience, Ben," Vilgax said with a grin.
"She's a smart girl. She'll get here when she's good and ready."
Gwen activated her wrist computer, calling up the base's communication system and hacking into it quickly and easily.
She accessed the voice modulator and sent a call to Grampa Max's RV.
"Max, this is Alpha-9. We have a situation at the base. It's under attack. Repeat, it's under attack. Fall back to checkpoint 3-Alpha for further instructions."
The voice on the other end crackled back in response.
"Roger that, Alpha-9. I'm on my way."
Gwen smiled to herself.
Grampa Max was safe for now; he was falling back to a point several miles from here.
She pulled out her energy disruptor and took aim through the grating.
Ben and Vilgax were still engrossed in the security feeds, completely unaware of her presence.
She took a deep breath, her finger tightening on the trigger.
Then she hesitated.
She couldn't kill them both at once, not from this angle.
She needed to get them separated so she could take them out one at a time.
She activated her wrist computer again, using the voice modulator to mimic the voice of a guard.
"Security breach in lower levels. All guards report to sector 3 for further instructions."
Vilgax looked up, his eyes narrowing.
"Ben, check it out," he barked.
Ben nodded and transformed back into his human form, heading for the door.
Gwen's finger tightened on the trigger again and she called out casually, "Hey Ben."
He froze mid-step, his alien features flashing across his face as he recognized her voice.
She squeezed the trigger and a blast of energy shot down through the grating and straight through his shoulder, sending him crashing to the floor.
She stood up, her energy disruptor still trained on his chest, as he struggled back to his feet, clutching his shoulder.
"Before I blast you to smithereens, I want to know why," she demanded.
Ben's eyes narrowed.
"You really want to know why? Fine. Because what you need to realize is we were never going to win the war. For the sake of Earth's survival, a deal had to be made... with Vilgax."
He gestured towards the command console, where Vilgax watched them both coldly.
Gwen lowered her weapon slightly, trying to process what she was being told.
"You sold us out to save Earth?" she asked incredulously.
Ben nodded, wincing in pain. "It was the only way to ensure humanity's survival, Gwen."
She raised the energy disruptor again, aiming it back at his chest.
"So you decided to betray us? To put us all in danger? To put Kevin in danger?"
Ben shook his head.
"Kevin was never supposed to be there, Gwen. You were supposed to have stayed behind, just like you were supposed to."
She remembered the day vividly.
Ben had been too busy talking to Vilgax on his wrist computer to pay attention to her and Kevin while they were on a mission.
He hadn't been fully committed in the field.
No one had known about the deal he'd made with Vilgax yet, so no one had any idea why he was acting so strangely.
When Vilgax's minions had shown up, Ben had abandoned them and left her and Kevin to fend for themselves.
Kevin had gotten caught, and she had dived off a bridge into a river below, barely avoiding being captured herself.
Ben shook his head again, trying to explain himself.
Ben's voice softened, a hint of regret seeping through.
"I never wanted anyone to get hurt, especially not Kevin. But the stakes were too high, Gwen."
Gwen's eyes blazed with anger.
*And you think that justifies everything? You think that makes it right?*
She kept the energy disruptor trained on Ben, her finger hovering over the trigger.
Vilgax watched them both silently from the console, a smirk spreading across his face.
Ben's eyes locked with hers, burning with a mix of regret and determination.
He took a step closer to her, his wounded arm held tightly against his chest.
"I know you're angry, Gwen. But I'm not going to back down. I did what I had to do."
Gwen took a deep breath, her grip tightening on the disruptor.
She aimed it at Ben's heart and fired.
The blast sent him flying backward, slamming into the wall before he collapsed to the ground.
Gwen stood over him, her chest heaving with exertion and anger.
"Goodbye, Ben," she whispered.
She turned away, leaving him motionless on the floor as she prepared to face Vilgax alone.
Ben's form flickered, his body disappearing and reappearing in the same position.
Gwen turned back, her energy disruptor still smoking from the previous blast.
"What the...?"
Ben's form shifted again, revealing that he was just a hologram.
She'd been tricked.
*He's been a decoy all along.*
The smirk on Vilgax's face grew even wider as he stepped away from the command console, applauding slowly.
Gwen scanned the room for any sign of the real Ben, but there was no trace of him.
Vilgax's voice echoed off the walls of the large chamber.
"I'm afraid your revenge was futile, Gwen Tennyson. The real Ben Tennyson is long gone."
Gwen's eyes darted around, her mind racing.
"Where is he, Vilgax? What have you done with him?"
Vilgax chuckled darkly, his eyes gleaming with malice.
"He's far beyond your reach now, dear Gwen. But don't worry, you'll be joining him soon enough."
Gwen stood tall, her energy disruptor still aimed at Vilgax.
"Where is he, Vilgax? I won't ask again."
Vilgax smirked confidently, his voice dripping with contempt.
"I told you, Gwen. He's long gone. You'll never find him."
The door to the command chamber burst open and Ben rushed in.
He was in his human form, his eyes blazing with anger.
He charged at Vilgax, his fist connecting squarely with the alien warlord's jaw.
"Did you actually think I would betray my family for you?"
Ben shouted, his fist flying again and connecting with a loud crack.
Vilgax stumbled backward, his eyes widening in shock.
Ben continued to pummel him mercilessly, his fists flying left and right as Vilgax struggled to regain his footing.
Gwen's eyes widened in disbelief as she lowered her disruptor.
"Ben, how did you escape? I thought you were..."
Ben glanced at her, determination etched on his face.
"I had help from an unexpected ally. We don't have much time."
Ben's words trailed off as he turned back to Vilgax.
The alien warlord had managed to regain his footing and was now charging at Ben.
Ben ducked just in time, narrowly avoiding a blazing blast of energy from Vilgax's hand.
Vilgax continued to fire at Ben, but the young hero was quick enough to dodge each shot.
Ben's eyes locked onto the Omnitrix, which was still clutched in Vilgax's other hand.
He charged forward again, determined to retrieve it.
Vilgax was caught off guard by Ben's sudden attack, and before he could react, Ben had managed to wrestle the Omnitrix from his grasp.
Gwen kept her energy disruptor trained on Vilgax, ready to fire if he made a move.
Ben stepped back, his face bruised but his determination unwavering.
He clutched the Omnitrix tightly in his hand as Vilgax snarled at him, his eyes burning with anger.
"You haven't seen the last of me, Ben Tennyson," Vilgax growled, his voice low and menacing.
Ben glanced at Gwen before nodding toward the door.
"We need to get out of here. Now."
Gwen followed closely behind Ben as they rushed through the corridors of Vilgax's fortress.
She kept her energy disruptor at the ready, prepared to fire at a moment's notice if any of Vilgax's minions dared to attack.
Ben led the way, his familiarity with the layout of the fortress evident in his confident strides.
They finally reached the docking bay, and Ben quickly scanned the area for any signs of danger.
Satisfied that it was clear, he turned to Gwen and explained his plan.
"We need to get out of here and back to Earth. My plan was never to betray my family and join Vilgax. It was all a ruse to keep him distracted while I figured out a way to escape."
Gwen's eyes widened in disbelief.
But...the hologram...I thought...
Ben shook his head.
"I'm sorry about that. I had to make it look like I had betrayed you so Vilgax would believe me. But now that he knows the truth, he'll be even more determined than ever to destroy Earth."
Gwen nodded, her determination renewed.
"We can't let that happen. We have to get back and warn Grandpa Max."
Ben nodded, his eyes locked on hers.
"Let's go."
They made their way through the dimly lit corridors of Vilgax's fortress, avoiding security patrols at every turn.
The air was thick with tension as they moved quickly but cautiously, their senses on high alert for any sign of danger. Gwen kept her energy disruptor at the ready, prepared to fire at a moment's notice if they were discovered.
Ben led the way, his knowledge of the fortress's layout guiding them through the winding corridors.
As they moved deeper into the heart of Vilgax's stronghold, Gwen could feel the weight of their mission growing heavier with each passing step.
They were running out of time, and if they didn't escape soon, Vilgax would surely send his forces after them.
The thought sent a shiver down her spine as she gripped her disruptor tightly in her hand.
Suddenly, Ben stopped in his tracks and looked back at Gwen.
She could see the determination in his eyes as he raised the Omnitrix to his wrist.
"Here we go," he said, his voice steady and resolute.
With a burst of light, Ben's body began to shift and contort, transforming into the sleek blue form of XLR8.
Gwen watched in awe as Ben's transformation took place, his body elongating and his arms and legs merging into a single, streamlined mass.
When the light faded, Ben was gone, replaced by the futuristic motorcycle-like form of XLR8.
He revved his engines and turned to face Gwen.
"Hold on tight," he said, reaching out with one long, slender arm.
Gwen hesitated for a moment before grasping Ben's hand firmly.
He pulled her onto his back, and she wrapped her arms tightly around him, holding on for dear life.
With a burst of speed, XLR8 shot forward, racing through the corridors of Vilgax's fortress at incredible velocity.
Gwen clung tightly to Ben's back as they narrowly avoided security lasers and dodged past startled guards.
The corridors blurred together in a dizzying whirlwind of color and light as they hurtled towards the exit. Gwen kept her energy disruptor at the ready, scanning their surroundings for any signs of danger.
She knew that they couldn't let their guard down for a moment - Vilgax would stop at nothing to prevent their escape.
But Ben had been right; his plan had worked perfectly.
Vilgax had been completely distracted by their ruse, and they had managed to slip past his defenses undetected.
Now all they had to do was make it out of the fortress alive.
As they approached the docking bay, Gwen could feel her heart pounding in her chest.
They were almost safe - but she knew that Vilgax wouldn't give up easily.
She scanned the area frantically, searching for any signs of danger.
And then she saw them: a group of Rev-99 robots marching towards them from the far end of the bay.
Ben accelerated, his focus unwavering as he prepared to face the final obstacle.
