I woke up to the sound of my alarm blaring in my ear.
I reached over to my wristwatch and shut it off.
It read 06:00 AM.
My name is Ryan, and I am a gravity astronaut on the International Space Station.
I got out of my sleeping bag and started to get ready for the day.
I grabbed a granola bar and a drink bag and took them with me to the kitchen to eat while I began the morning checklists.
Mark was already in there filling out the paperwork.
"Morning," he said.
"Morning," I replied back.
We were both quiet for the next fifteen minutes as we went through the procedures.
Once we finished, we began to get our gear ready for today's EVAs (Extravehicular Activities).
Our job was to take a sample of the solar flare that was going to pass us today while Sarah stayed inside to run the equipment and monitor our progress.
This was the first time we had ever attempted something like this so we were all excited to see how it turned out.
We would be using one of the stations robotic arms to maneuver it into position so we could collect our sample.
