12-year-old twin and always tries to be the better twin

My name is Thiago Messi and I have a twin- Aiden.

He's the other half of me.

We're the same but yet different.

People say we look the same but I don't think so.

Aiden is the wiser twin, smarter, and more handsome.

I'm just trying to be as good as him.

I'm 12 years old and I always try to be the better twin.

But today- today I couldn't.

I watched as they took Aiden away.

I didn't do anything to stop them.

I just stood there with my mom holding me as I watched my other half get arrested.

It all happened so fast.

One minute we were at home having breakfast and the next the cops were there taking Aiden away.

It was all because of him- my stepdad, Mr. Jones.

He's always hitting mom and yelling at her.

Today was no different.

When we got home from school, mom was crying and Mr. Jones was yelling at her.

Aiden yelled at him to stop and the next thing- the cops were there.

They said Aiden hit one of the officers but I know he didn't.

Aiden wouldn't do a thing like that.

But I didn't say anything.

I didn't stand up for him like a twin should do.

Now he's gone and it's all my fault.
