She eventually gets her hands on a Grab Pack, a special device yellow in color and equipped with two hands--one blue and one red--once used by Playtime Co. employees to maneuver around the factory and activate mechanical devices. The Grab Pack's hands could be used for grabbing and moving objects, as well as opening doors. She had never met the living toys before.
Catnap: A large, purple, serene, male, living, cat-like, quadrupedal toy with a skeletal body, white eyes and a moon pendant with the ability to produce Red Smoke from his mouth that was capable of putting people to sleep, who had once been an orphaned human boy named Theodore.
Dogday: A small, extroverted, playful, orange, living, male, dog-like, bipedal plush toy with white eyes and a sun pendant and Catnap's best friend, who used to be an orphaned human boy named Danny.
The Smiling Critters: A group of living, small, bipedal animal plush toys led by Dogday that once lived in Playcare, which included Hoppy Hopscotch, an athletic, green, female bunny with a lightning bolt pendant, Bubba Bubbaphant, a blue, smart, male elephant with a light bulb pendant, Kickin' Chicken, a yellow, cool, male chicken with an orange star pendant, Picky Piggy, a pink, healthy-eating, female pig with an apple pendant, Bobby Bearhug, a red, caring, female bear with a heart pendant, and Craftycorn, a white, kind, artsy unicorn with a light blue mane and tail and a rainbow flower pendant.
Allies:

Kissy Missy: Identical to Huggy, but was pink in color and was far more docile in nature. Kissy is Poppy's close friend.
Doey the Doughman: A sentient dough person made up of blue, orange, yellow and red play dough. Wears a small dark blue hat. He gets his personality from the three orphan boys he's made from: Jack, the bubbly, empathetic one, Matthew, the mature, caring 16-year-old, and Kevin, the problem child with anger issues.

Locations:
Building Block Lobby: The entrance area of Playtime Co. and Huggy's hunting ground.

The Game Station: Mommy Long Legs's domain. Before the Hour of Joy, the area was used to test orphan children to see if they qualified to become living toys.
Safe Haven: A repurposed security room where Doey has made his home.
The Prison: A grim location where scientists would lock up the toys that were too dangerous. Pianosaurus, Yarnaby and the Nightmare Critters stalk the cell blocks.
Backstory: Orphans from Playcare, the factory's on-site orphanage and Catnap and Dogday's home, had been experimented on and turned into monstrous life-size toys, who later fell under the Prototype's control, by human scientists. On August 8th, 1995, 15 years before Yumiko was born, a horrific event known as the Hour of Joy occurred, where the living toys rose up and slaughtered every employee in the factory, leaving no human alive. The living toys still roamed the halls, however.

August 8th
Yumiko
It's been a long time since I've had a good dream.
I only remember two things: I was holding a blue balloon, and I had climbed up very, very high.
When I woke up, my heart was still racing from the dream.
It felt like I'd actually fallen from a great height.
I looked out the window and saw the sun just starting to peek over the rooftops.
It was already pretty light, and I could see the shadows of trees swaying in the breeze.
I heard my parents stirring in the living room below, and I decided to get up too.
"Good morning!"
Mom called out to me as I walked down the stairs.
I smiled and headed to the kitchen to see what we were having for breakfast.
It turned out that we were having toast with strawberry jam and banana slices, and a glass of cold milk.
After breakfast, I grabbed my school backpack and headed out the door with my parents.
We walked along the main road, past the houses in our small neighborhood, until we came to the end of the street and turned left.
Right there, on the corner across the street, was a giant gate with a sign that read "Playtime Co."
I stop at the corner, my parents continuing ahead without noticing.
The rusted iron gate towers before me, its faded blue paint peeling away in strips.
Through the bars, I can make out the abandoned parking lot with weeds pushing through cracked asphalt.
A gentle breeze carries the scent of old metal and decay.
Something yellow catches my eye - a device lying in the grass near the gate.
I glance back at my parents, now distant figures down the street.
My hand reaches through the bars, fingers stretching toward the mysterious object.
The metal feels cold against my skin as I strain to reach it.
"Yumiko, what are you doing?" a voice calls out, startling me.
I turn to see my friend Kenji approaching, his eyes wide with curiosity.
"I think I found something important," I reply, finally grasping the device and pulling it through the bars.
I crouch behind an overgrown bush near the gate, hiding the device from passing cars.
Kenji peers over my shoulder as I turn the yellow contraption in my hands.
It has two retractable arms - one red, one blue.
The device is surprisingly light, its plastic casing scratched but intact.
Near the base, I find a small panel with three buttons.
My thumb hovers over the central button, hesitating.
"Maybe we shouldn't," Kenji whispers, his voice filled with a mix of excitement and apprehension.
But curiosity wins.
I press it.
A mechanical whir emanates from within, and the blue arm suddenly illuminates with a gentle, pulsing light.
Kenji's eyes widen, and he whispers urgently, "Yumiko, what if it's some kind of alarm?"
I shake my head, feeling a strange certainty wash over me. "No, Kenji, I think it's a key... to something hidden inside Playtime Co."
He glances back at the gate, then nods slowly. "Then we have to find out what it unlocks."
