I am a dreamer.
I dreamed of catching a serial killer known as Kira.
I was aided by my friends: Arlin, Matt, and another person named Amber.
Amber was a man.
He was the one who told me that he struck a deal with a demon to get power to help me catch Kira.
At first, I thought he was just talking nonsense and that it was all just an illusion.
But I had no other choice, so I just went along with him.
If it was true or not, I didn't care.
As long as I could catch Kira, that's all that mattered.
I just wanted to get revenge for my father's death.
He was killed by Kira five years ago.
Ever since then, I've been trying to catch the killer.
The police couldn't catch him, no matter how they tried.
So I took matters into my own hands.
I did whatever I could to catch him, even if it meant breaking the law and putting myself in danger.
I led Kira's sister into the building.
The building was b######d, and I had set it up to catch Kira.
I tied her up in a room and left her there.
I checked the traps to make sure they were ready for Kira.
I entered the building, making sure that Kira's sister was still in the room and that she couldn't escape.
I checked each trap to make sure that it was set up correctly.
I made sure that the wires were in place and that the triggers were ready to go.
If everything went according to plan, then Kira would be caught.
But Arlin and Matt didn't know about my plan.
I had to keep it a secret from them.
I heard the sound of footsteps approaching the building.
Kira's father had arrived.
He didn't know that his son was a serial killer.
I watched as he entered the building, his eyes scanning the area.
I was hiding behind a wall, and I could see him clearly.
He called out for his daughter, but there was no response.
I knew that she couldn't answer because she was tied up in the room.
I watched as he entered the room, his eyes scanning the space for his daughter.
He called out her name again, but there was no response.
He continued to search the room, and I watched him closely.
He called out for his daughter again, his voice filled with worry.
I could see that he was starting to get desperate.
He looked around the room, trying to find any sign of her.
I knew that he would eventually find her, but I wanted to see how long it would take him.
As he approached the spot where she was t###p, I held my breath.
He was so close, but he still hadn't seen her yet.
I wondered what he would do when he finally found her.
Would he try to untie her, or would he leave her there?
As I watched him, I considered revealing myself.
I could step out from behind the wall and confront him.
But I decided to wait a little longer. He finally saw her and rushed over to where she was tied up.
Gods & Monsters
He tried to untie her, but I knew that it wouldn't be easy.
I had tied the ropes tightly, and they wouldn't come loose easily.
As he struggled to untie her, I couldn't help but feel a sense of satisfaction.
I had finally caught Kira's father, just like I had planned.
I stepped out from behind the wall and pointed my gun at him.
"Get away from her," I said firmly.
He turned, eyes wide with shock, and demanded, "Who are you, and what do you want with my daughter?"
"I'm the one who's going to end this nightmare," I replied, stepping into the light.
He tried to untie his daughter, but then he suddenly stopped and stared at me.
He was trying to use the god of death's eyes to see my name and lifespan.
I knew that he couldn't see it because Amber had protected me.
I could see the confusion in his eyes, and I knew that he was struggling to understand what was happening.
Suddenly, his face contorted in pain, and he let out a scream.
Gods & Monsters
The sound of a grotesque whistling filled his mind, and he clutched his head in agony.
I watched as he collapsed to the ground, writhing in pain.
His daughter looked at him with horror in her eyes, still tied up and unable to move.
She screamed, "Dad! Dad!"
Her eyes were wide with fear, and she was clearly in shock.
I took a step closer to him, my gun still pointed at him.
He looked up at me with a mixture of pain and confusion in his eyes.
I could see that he was struggling to understand what was happening to him.
The god of death's gaze was causing him immense pain, and he was unable to escape it.
I knew that this was just the beginning of Kira's downfall.
I kept my distance from him, watching as he writhed in agony on the floor.
His daughter continued to scream, but I ignored her and focused on Kira's father.
He tried to crawl towards his daughter, but the pain was too much for him.
As he struggled to move, I heard the sound of footsteps approaching.
Reinforcements had arrived.
I knew that I had to act quickly.
I turned to the control panel and entered the code.
The building would detonate in just a few minutes.
I checked the timer to make sure I had enough time to escape.
My hands were steady as I set the timer, my mind focused on the task at hand.
I left the room, glancing one last time at Kira's father and sister.
As I walked away, I could still hear his screams echoing through the building.
I exited the building and triggered the explosion from a safe distance.
The blast was intense, and it scarred my face.
As I walked away from the building, the explosion's force knocked me off my feet.
I felt debris flying through the air, slicing into my face and causing me to cry out in pain.
Blood streamed down my face, soaking into my shirt.
I struggled to get to my feet, but the pain was too much.
I stumbled and staggered away from the building, desperate to escape the destruction.
The sound of sirens echoed through the air as I made my way down the street.
I could hear people shouting and screaming in the distance.
I tried to stay focused, but the pain in my face was overwhelming.
It felt like a thousand knives stabbing into my skin, and I couldn't see clearly.
I stumbled into an alleyway, using the wall to support myself.
My breathing was ragged and shallow, and I could feel my heart pounding in my chest.
I leaned against the wall, trying to catch my breath and steady myself.

But it was no use.
The pain in my face was too much, and I could feel myself starting to pass out. My vision b###d, and I felt myself falling backwards.
My legs gave out beneath me, and I collapsed onto the cold pavement.
The world around me began to spin, and I could feel myself losing consciousness.
I tried to fight it, but it was no use.
The darkness closed in around me, and everything went black.
I slowly opened my eyes.
The beeping of machines filled the room, and I could see Arlin sitting in a chair next to me.
His face was etched with worry, and tears streamed down his cheeks.
He gripped my hand tightly, relief washing over him as he saw me stir.
"Hey," he whispered, his voice shaking with emotion.
"You're awake."
I tried to speak, but my throat was dry and sore.
Arlin quickly grabbed a cup of water and held it to my lips.
I sipped gratefully, feeling the cool liquid soothe my parched throat.
As I drank, I couldn't help but notice the scars on my face.
Gods & Monsters
They were still raw and red, a constant reminder of the explosion that had changed everything.
The pain was still there, but it was manageable now.
I knew that it would take time for the wounds to fully heal, but I was grateful to be alive. "How long have I been here?" I asked, my voice hoarse from disuse.
"A few days," Arlin replied, his eyes filled with concern.
"We were worried about you."
I nodded, trying to remember what had happened after the explosion.
I recalled stumbling away from the building and collapsing in an alleyway.
Everything after that was a blur.
"I'm okay," I said, trying to reassure him.
"Just a little sore."
Arlin nodded, but I could tell that he was still worried about me.
He had always been protective of me, and it was clear that he was struggling to come to terms with what had happened.
As we talked, I noticed someone standing in the corner of the room.
It was Amber, his expression unreadable as he watched us. "What is he doing here?" I asked Arlin quietly.
"He's been here the whole time," Arlin replied, his voice barely above a whisper.
"He said he wanted to make sure you were okay."
I nodded, unsure of what to make of Amber's presence.
I knew that he had helped me catch Kira, but I still didn't fully trust him.
As I looked at him now, I couldn't help but wonder what his true motives were.
Was he really just trying to help me, or did he have an ulterior motive?
Gods & Monsters
I tried to sit up in bed, wincing at the pain that shot through my body.
