I never wanted to go to college.

I mean, I wanted to learn and all that jazz, but I didn’t want to pay for it.

Plus, I wasn’t sure I’d be able to handle being away from my twin sister.

We’d been together since birth, and we were inseparable.

Literally.

Though we had our own bedrooms in our home, we often slept on the same couch in the living room because we liked each other’s company.

So when we got accepted into the same college, I was both happy and sad.

I was happy because I’d be going with my sister.

I was sad because I knew that once we were there, we wouldn’t be able to sleep on the same couch like we usually did.

We weren’t given the option of having a single room, so we had to take one of the two-person rooms.

It wasn’t so bad though.
