I was goddess of emotions, and everything felt empty.

I sat on my mountaintop, staring down at the world below me.

The humans worshipped me, prayed to me, and feared me.

I gave them emotions so that they could pray to the other gods and goddesses.

Fear to the god of war so that he could take their souls and conquer.

Love so that they would reproduce and worship the goddess of fertility.

Fear to the god of the sky so that he could take their souls when they died and give them reincarnation.

Love to the goddess of the earth so that they would care for her and receive her bounty.

I gave them emotions so that they would worship the gods and goddesses, so that they would have balance in their lives, so that they would not hurt the world.

But everything felt empty.

I wanted to feel what they felt.

I looked down at my hands.

They were ethereal, shifting with colors like the rainbow.

Cold to the touch, glowing with my power.

I wanted to feel like that.

Warmth.

Coolness.
