I got the job!
I’m working at the amusement park with my friend Stewart, and so far, it’s been great.
I’ve gotten to know some of the other cast members, and everyone seems really nice.
There was an accident in the park today, though.
A bunch of kids were playing with one of the artifacts from the medieval exhibit, and somehow, it got turned on.
The next thing I knew, a bright light flashed, and when it went out, I felt really strange.
I looked down and couldn’t believe my eyes.
I reached up and felt my face, but I couldn’t deny it.
Something in that park had magical properties.
I was a woman.
I couldn’t believe it.
I had always thought of myself as somewhat feminine anyway, but now I was actually female.
It took me a while to come to terms with what had happened to me.
Eventually, I realized that I needed to call my boss and let him know that I wouldn’t be able to work for the rest of the day.
I was too shaken.
When I called, he answered right away.
"Hey," I said.
"It’s Patrick. Something happened today. I need the rest of the day off."
"Okay," he said immediately.
"What happened?"
"I don’t really want to talk about it. I just need some time."
"Okay," he said again.
"You got it. Take care of yourself."

I hung up and looked around.
I knew that I needed to talk to someone, so I went to the park and found Stewart.
He was sitting on a bench near the employee lockers, eating his lunch.
I sat down next to him and said, "Hey."
He looked at me and smiled.
"Hey, Patrick. What’s up?"
I took a deep breath and said, "Something weird happened today."
He raised an eyebrow and asked, "What?"
I hesitated for a moment before answering.
"I don’t know if you’re going to believe me," I said.
Girl Crush
"Just tell me," he replied.
"I was in the medieval exhibit," I began.
"And some kids were playing with one of the artifacts. It turned on, and there was a bright light. When it went out, I felt different. And when I looked down at myself, I realized that something had changed."
Stewart frowned and asked, "What do you mean?"
I took a deep breath before answering.
"I’m not a man anymore," I said quietly.
Stewart’s eyes widened in shock, and he asked, "What do you mean?"
I sighed and said, "I’m a woman now."
Stewart stared at me for a long time before asking, "Are you serious?"
I nodded and said, "Yes."
He looked at me closely for a moment before saying, "You look different. But you still look like Patrick to me." I smiled slightly and said, "That’s because I am still Patrick. But something has happened to me. And I need your help to figure out what it is."
Stewart nodded and said, "Okay. Let’s go get some food and talk about this."
I nodded and followed him to the cafeteria.
As we walked, he asked, "So what exactly happened?"
I explained everything that had happened in the medieval exhibit, from the kids playing with the artifact to the bright light that had changed me into a woman.
Stewart listened intently as we walked.
When we got to the cafeteria, he grabbed a tray of food and motioned for me to follow him to a table.
We sat down and started eating while he asked questions about what had happened.
"So you’re saying that an artifact from the medieval exhibit turned you into a woman?" he asked skeptically.
"Yes," I replied.
"It sounds crazy," he said.
"I know," I agreed.
"But it’s true."
He sighed and asked, "Do you have any idea how this could have happened?"
I shook my head and said, "Not really, but I think it has something to do with the artifact's inscription. It mentioned something about transformation and destiny."

Stewart leaned forward, intrigued. "Have you thought about going back to see if it can reverse whatever it did?"
I hesitated, then replied, "I have, but I'm worried it might make things worse or not work at all."
He nodded and said, "I understand. Well, we'll figure something out. For now, let's focus on getting you comfortable with your new body."
I nodded and we continued eating.
After lunch, we went to the break room to talk more.
I sat down in a chair and Stewart sat across from me.
I started telling him about how I was feeling, but as I spoke, I noticed that my hands were shaking.
I tried to ignore it and kept talking.
Stewart leaned forward, his eyes wide with concern.
He said, "Patrick, are you okay?"
I nodded and said, "Yeah, I'm fine. Just a little nervous."
Stewart nodded and said, "It's okay. We'll get through this together."

As he spoke, I felt his hand slide onto my knee.
It was warm and heavy through my uniform skirt.
I froze mid-sentence and looked down at his hand.
I suddenly realized how small I felt next to him.
The familiar comfort of our friendship shifted into something uncomfortable.
I scooted my chair back a little bit, trying to create some distance between us.
Stewart's expression changed from concern to embarrassment as he quickly withdrew his hand.
He cleared his throat and said, "Sorry. I didn't mean to make you uncomfortable."
"It's okay," I replied, trying to smile reassuringly.
Stewart looked down, fiddling with his fingers nervously.

"Maybe we should focus on finding out more about that artifact," he suggested, glancing back up at me.
I nodded, grateful for the change in subject.
"Yeah, that's a good idea."
We both stood up and headed back to the exhibit.
As we walked, I couldn't shake the feeling of his hand on my knee.
It had felt different than when he touched me as a man.
My skin still tingled where his fingers had rested.
I wasn't used to this new body yet, and all these unfamiliar sensations were overwhelming.
We parted ways after that, and I hurried back to my apartment.
I locked myself in my bedroom and stared at my reflection in the full-length mirror.
The person looking back at me was unrecognizable.
Girl Crush
Curves where there used to be angles, long hair falling past my shoulders.
I tentatively reached up and traced my collarbone with my fingertips, testing the sensitivity of this foreign flesh.
Everything felt so different.
Even the simple act of removing my work uniform felt strange against softer skin. I sat down on the edge of my bed, hesitating for a moment before letting my fingers explore further.
I wanted to know how this body responded to touch.
Girl Crush
Just as I was about to continue, my phone buzzed on the nightstand.
It was a message from Stewart: "Hey, I did some digging and found something interesting about that artifact."
I quickly typed back, "What did you find?"
